Oregon State fans think it would be them and Connecticut if there are two openings left or created in the Big12.

So of the 4 pac teams left is it realistic to think that OSU and possibly UConn the outlier. have some sort of advantage if that were the case?

How would you rank the likely hood of the 4 remaining pac schools and Conn, getting two invites. And the Oregon State AD was particularly bitter in school jumping ship and if he left would that be different now in his eyes.

So can we trust the other three Pac schools working to salvage the pac or are the making secret phone calls during meeting breaks to reform the conference?

At this point, none of the remaining four can be blamed for seeking safe harbor. I do think all four would benefit from their decision-makers getting together in private (i.e. no PAC officialdom present) and having a "no-judgment/brutal honesty" discussion about what they want to do next and if they have an interest in remaining tied or not. If there is interest, as I answered in another thread, they should hear what AppleTV (who apparently still has some interest) has to say and is willing to offer.

Honestly, it appears UConn is being used by the Big 12 as a lever to get others to make decisions. "Decide now or we'll just take UConn." Other than the NYC media market and sorta, kinda proximity to West Virginia and Cincinnati, they aren't a great fit. Why wouldn't the Big 12 reach out to San Diego State, UNLV, or for that matter Stanford or Cal before reaching out to Oregon State?

The B-12 was reportedly given license from Fox and ESPN to bring in four P5 (ie PAC-10) teams at full payout. They now have done that. Anything else would need to be negotiated with media providers or kicked in from current members, lowering the already relatively low payout for everybody. So not likely.

Every school is going to work every angle for themselves.

If the question is, which Pac-4 team would have a nonzero chance of getting a Big 12 invitation if they wanted one, IMO it's Washington State, whose president was the Kansas State president for a long time. Connections matter.
