Whenever someone starts a new thread, it always morphs into something else. Could we just start a new thread that focuses on the most current/new information on CAL joining the ACC? Maybe this one? I don't want anything about how we will make or lose money or cost of travel, just current info as to where we stand with the ACC/BIG.

That said, IMO those who see value in The Athletic should pony up for a subscription.

If the B1G wants to swoop in last minute and invite Cal and Stanford last minute to thwart ND's attempts to save the ACC as a viable conference, I'm all for it. I don't mind being used as a pawn for the B1G to pickup teams in the Southeast and force ND into a conference.

Perhaps ND has a better chance to win the ACC than BiG10. If that is the case, ACC is a better way to play offs

I wasn't. I find it highly unlikely the B1G (sorry, I mean Fox Sports) evens cares if Cal/Stanford go to the ACC. I was just responding to the post hoping the B1G doesn't make an offer.
Cal needs an offer to end up someplace. If the B1G extends an offer and the ACC vote is not a sure thing you have to take it I think. Even if it is less money. Cal has to find a home. Up to 5 ACC schools adamantly opposed to adding Cal and Stanford? If that's the case it won't happen, we need 12 yes votes out of 15.

My opinion only: I think ND is banking on Clemson, FSU, and Miami leaving and playing in a conference they can win most years.
