It's gotta be a fake right? You couldn't come up with a more over the top caricature of a personality. No way it's a real person.

There are a number of relatively new posters with distinct personalities that I have my suspicions about. We even have an old one returned after decades.

Tell us more. Why not?

This really is an interesting thread. I did learn several unique techniques of written communication and rhetoric from our Oxford-educated mestizo:

(1) Accuse everyone else of being "lost in their feels" if they express a sentiment different from yours
(2) Insert a "bruh" or a "son" in your diction, preferably in an attempt to put down the person you're responding to
(3) Accuse others you don't agree with of being "booty tickled" to demonstrate that you have access to Urban Dictionary
(4) If anyone raises a point that you disagree with or dismiss outright, call them "jealous" or a "Becky"
(5) Explain the history of affirmative action at UC, and vehemently deny being the beneficiary of the policy
(6) Wield condescension as a cudgel -- and then act aggrieved that anyone would have the temerity to question you on any topic, ever
(7) When in doubt, conclude with inserting another "bruh" or "son" reference, just to show how cool you are, preferably using it as a way to say "Look at me, I'm young, I never lose any argument, I know the history of all things, and by the way, did I mention that I attended graduate school at Oxford?"

I think this covers a lot of "Introduction to Barca 1." Granted, it's a survey course, but Oxford does award doctoral degree credit for it. Sincerely, Mr. Lost in My Feels, son. Or is that bruh?

So good.
keep crying, you really need to talk to your psychiatrist.

1) you are overly emotional and that makes you constantly use generalizations. An obvious sign that you have poor argumentation skills, since you can't stop yourself from deploying logical fallacies.

2) your racist dogwhistling, complaining because someone uses African American Vernacular English says everything anyone ever needs to know about you. your comments about Affirmative Action also expose your racist thinking.

2a) All the Black and Indigenous and Asian people that got into Cal through Affirmative Action completely deserved it. Did you magically forget that you are occupying stolen Native Land, son? lol

2b) You are some kind of rightwing paranoid person that either never attended Cal or never learned how to do basic research while at Cal. Go look up prop 209. Everyone knows that Affirmative Action was cancelled in the 1990s. UC Berkeley stopped all Affirmative Action policies when that became law. I graduated 2010. Affirmative Action had ended ten years before I ever arrived at Cal. Keep crying, though, because you are jealous that I outperformed you. That I got into a grad school and that your education never went beyond undergrad.

2c) "you are lost in your feels", "bruh", "son", are all AAVE colloquialisms. You raging about them makes you racist.

3) stop being willfully ignorant. go sign up for some classes at a local junior college so you can finally be educated, because you clearly did NOT study linguistics at Cal.

4) and stop being paranoid. lolol you are not a victim. well, you are a victim of your own bigotry and self-victimization.

I had to double take on the initial post. ACC Presidents meeting to racist Spanish. Got it.

I wonder how many posts actually stay on point on BI.
you did notice that I responded to people derailing the conversation, and tried to get them back on topic, right? if not, double check the thread. whoever this Alkiadt person is they are raging and have not once spoken about the topic. they just derail every thread.

I tried to get him and his paranoid buddies back on subject but their fragility drives them to complain.

I have literally never had people flip out because I use AAVE, and start trying to police the English language in this forum. Something about African American Vernacular English sends racist folks into panic mode. so, they do what they always do, constantly throw out insults and turn around and complain to admins pretending that they didn't derail topics and insult people.

thats his modus operandi: he reads something he hates, drops red herrings, strawmans, ad hominems...then begs admins to lock the thread. its weird to see a grown man (Alkiadt) throw so many tantrums.

Dang, "son" [spit], you've lost your fastball. In terms of the scorecard, let's tally your latest "contribution" to the board:

(1) referral to psychiatrist
(2) accusation of being overly emotional / paranoid
(3) accusations of racism / dogwhistling / bigotry
(4) blame for stolen native lands
(5) labeling the political persuasions of a poster you've never met
(6) questioning a stranger's Cal credentials or ability to do research
(7) references to crying, jealousy, and stating that another poster never went to graduate school despite the fact that not everyone feels the need to post about their educational bona fides at Cal or other institutions
(8) accusations of ignorance
(9) references to linguistics from one who mistakenly thinks diction and phraseology like "bruh" and "son" and "lost in your feels" is a technique that enhances written communication and rhetoric (hint: they don't)
(9) accusation of another's victimhood

I will conclude our little back-and-forth with this post. The carnival called, they want their barca back. Happy trails to you, Oxford Mestizo.

Ok it's 100% a fake troll account. The bit was believable at first but now it's like cringe snl character.

Hey mods, can you take a few folk and take them into the cyber-shed?

This whole thread has gone off the rails and I'm sick and tired of the B.S.

I think this dude should apply for the soon-to-be-vacant Ethnic Studies position at UCR (I won't go into it, but you can look it up on the interwebs to get a feel for how it's relevant).

Also more likely he went to Oxford Elementary -- then he wouldn't be lying about the Oxford part at least.... lol

Hey, I went to Oxford Elementary - both the old school (pre-1965) and the "new" one (autumn, 1965). And the "new" one was apparently shut down in 2019 because it's in some ancient land-slide zone.

Certain that Cal, Stanford and SMU will be offered spots in the ACC if they accept very reduced shares of TV revenue. How reduced? SMU and Stanford are apparently willing to join the ACC and receive no TV $ for several years. That certainly undermines Cal's negotiating position. B1G may come in at the last minute and lowball Cal and Stanford.
why are people still clinging to B1G fantasies? It is NEVER going to happen.
I'm looking forward to the East Coast trips, and avoiding the monotony of the fly over states of the Fly Over Conference aka the B1G Boring. Games against the Buckeyes and Wolverines would be fun obviously, but unless you are flying in before the game and flying out right after, staying in a flyover state is not appealing.
Gosh, it's hard to imagine why any conference wouldn't want to jump at the chance to take Cal, its legion of three dozen fans, and their attitude.

all the whiny posters above crying about ethnic studies, raging about black people getting into Cal through Affirmative Action sounds like they are desperate to make the midwest believe Cal should be part of the Truckstop Big XII conference or the Flyover B1G.
