Yep, OSU is for real.
Yeah, they're really good against teams without a QB.
So we should watch out.
Brutal.
The ugly truth.

But actually I think both Utah and OSU are hugely over-rated. Neither has an offense that is worthy of a top 20 ranking. Utah might, once Rising comes back, whenever that will be.

The legit teams in this conference so far seem to be Oregon, Washington and USC. WSU and UCLA might join them but I need to see more.

The only team that hasn't played anybody is $C. Talk about a front loaded (backloaded?) schedule…

Let's hope Rising comes back after our game.
He'll come back just in time to help cannibalize the conference. It's already begun. WSU knocks off OSU, which knocks off Utah, which knocked off UCLA. All of those teams were once ranked. As was Colorado.

We already know that he will be back in action for their game against Cal.

No doubt Rising will be back for the Cal game.

Was Jermaine Terry playing at all for the Beavs?

The TE we "traded" for him, JT Byrne, isn't seeing too much action.

Terry had 1 catch for 4 yards in the opener against SJSU. Hasn't recorded a stat otherwise.

The good news there is that at least it wasn't us. Dude was rated almost as highly as Brock Bowers (i said almost). I first began to see him with a skeptic's eye when, his last prep season, he had like 4 receptions (maybe I'm exaggerating, maybe not).

I'd better shut up now, lest he have 10 catches for 143 yds and 3 TDs when they play us.

Cal is #1 in one thing: Hyping players that don't produce.

Cal is even better at not hyping players when they do produce.

OSU transfer QB DJ U was suppose to be all that

14-25, 1 TD, 1 INT. QBR of 85. He doesn't look all world to me

Utah QB goes 8-23 for a QBR of 8. Not sure I've seen a rating this low before. He didn't even have any INTs

Of course Rising expected back for the game against … Cal (heard on Sportscenter).

I mean DJ was the number 2 player in his class and started games at Clemson his true freshman year, which is about as all world as it gets. He also isn't any good (hence Clemson being done with him). We'd take him IN A SECOND and if he transferred right now he'd start for us in 11 hours, but tbh all the QBs that played in that game tonight were/are awful.

Anyone else envy the Beavers football? Small town support, hungry players not recruited by the big schools, great coaching, and "overachieving" the past few years. Good luck next week Bears.
absolutely. Our recruiting is horrible and I place that on our coaches.

I'd take the WSU QB in a heartbeat and yet look what we have? Why can't we get a legit QB here? We have an interception machine and a kid that is undersized and can't make a throw in the pocket or make a read.

No, for the very reasons you mention, and I would add that they are going to have a really great football stadium once the remodel is complete, the fact that no major conference took them on is really very sad and I feel really sorry for them.
They will be raided.

I like our depth on receivers and that's probably why we have not, yet, noticed him.
I am rooting for Byrne, he's a local to where I currently live.

it's a sad thing. How quickly the pac imploded. Let's see where they land. As a Bear I'm hoping for the best. Always feared those teams.

OSU and WSU used to be football cupcakes for the PAC 8. Just look at them, now. I hold out hope they join us in the ACC and help bolster a western pod.

Yes, the three things this team most needs to improve are recruiting, recruiting, and recruiting.

Spav's offense looked a helluva lot better when the QB was Davis Webb.

Our peak was pretty obvious when we lost two quarterbacks to the portal and could only pick up a single OL player in the off season

Both. If they don't get a Big 12 invitation, other teams will be recruiting their best players even before they enter the transfer portal, and their coaches will be at the top of the list for every "power" conference team with a coaching vacancy.

I think most of thought, especially after the North Texas game, that we had a new beginning, but the football gods said, "Not so fast."
