Cal Rugby seldom miss tackles. Coach Clark played football at Cal, and Coach Billups played football for a national championship football team.
Get those two together with the defensive coaches and devote a solid amount of time to tackling techniques. Their teams are FAR better tacklers than our football team. And the rugby players don't have pads!!!!

The talent isn't bad enough that we should have the 118th ranked pass defense. Coaching is the much bigger issue.

How many more years does it take for Wilcox to realize Sirmon is a horrible defensive coordinator? Pathetic - he got ran out of Louisville and came to Cal where we give out paychecks to losers constantly.
Wilcox complains about missed tackles in his interview on the radio. Says there were five missed tackles on that last drive.

There is nothing to be upset about on offense. Spavital is calling a great game, Mendoza is playing well, to the best of his ability and we are getting the ball into the hands of playmakers.
Defensive coaching is an issue.
We need to recruit and develop our lines. To soon to judge our new OL coach but we really need someone new as DL coach. Someone who can bring in lots of big fast, aggressive, smart, athletic players.

This. I listen to these NFL ex players talk about the importance of toughness in team culture. Especially hearing about it these days re the Detroit Lions and Dan C their HC. We clearly don't have that culture here.

Examples like this all around. Only Cal is so pathetic that they not only retained the HC after they proved to be a failure but actually gave him another $30m for no ****ing reason.

Wilcox is very involved in the defensive play calling. They are collaborators.
