The important thing to remember is that we need to extend Coach Wilcox because he, unlike that weak scumbag loser Lanning, is a man of integrity.

Not only is his record better than Lannings, but unlike that scumbag -- he wins in all phases of the game!

Lanning got an extension in July which puts his base salary up to 7 million. Wilcox would have said similar things if asked during a good year after being extended through 2028. Yes, Wilcox isn't in high demand like Lanning.

OSu coach Jonathan Smith is a better investment.

One thing I've learned after following college football for 40+ years:

Everything can look great for a program... until it doesn't. Maybe Lanning will be among the very few who enjoy nothing but success for decades, but maybe not. A lot can happen. And nowadays, it can happen fairly quickly.

That dumb loser wasn't even man enough to use a press report to get another extension.

Cal Strong is glad we have a smart coach whose agent knows how to manufacture a press report . . . and who is smart enough to leverage it into another big payday.
