Nice to see that, even though both teams has a losing record:

What do you got for attendance prediction, how many % of them are cal fans? Will u be there?

I agree that the crowd will be almost 75% Cal fans, and the wife and I will be among them.

I was at the Maples show post Big Game 75' thrashing as well. Recall Neil's back to the front of the stage and in reclusive mode most of the evening….don't recall Flo and Eddie being there though. Brother Muncie was the star of the day!

"presented by" being actually related to the event is nice.

Oh make no mistake Stanford medicine is the ultimate business. They have become the premier medical provider in the bay in the last 10 years, kind of cool to see actually.

Very cool to see for me. Better than FTX or Cheese it.

I guess this is the first time in quite a while that the big game has sold out. Stanford stadium is pretty small for a college football stadium so I'm not sure it would have sold out at Memorial but it could have.

No memory of Flo and Eddie as well. Do you remember during an acoustic set when it got noisy and Stills stopped playing and said, "Just because you lost a football game don't take it out on me. If you make anymore noise I'm outa here."

Cal called last year's game a sellout at less than 52k, and there clearly were a lot of empty rows.

Still, a lot of fun with a crowd that size, especially compared to other weeks.

One can get 50 yardline seats on the Cal bench side for $130 on stubhub, so it's not like demand is super high. But should be a good atmosphere, especially compared to the 15k Furd usually has in the stands.

Looking at tickets left for the Stanfurd Notre Dame game, there are plenty, and Stanford is charging $225 for center sideline seats, and $175 for other sideline seats, which is probably why they are empty.

wouldn't be shocked if Furd moved some of their inventory to SH so they can sell them at a more reasonable price.

That's the thing, anybody can call anything a "sellout" now. Just put up some tarps, just give away tickets, just send 5,000 tickets to Stub Hub, just lie, whatever.

I hope a lot of Cal students go. I don't know what % of fans will be Cal fans, but when it's even a third, we dominate.

Question for the future: One day, when Furd wins at CMS (sorry, but it's bound to happen eventually) are we gonna have to let those jerks onto our field? Because even though they're letting us on theirs, I don't want them on ours.

I heard this angle from my neighbor and from others as well and, honestly, I don't get it. Since we're both moving conferences together, what difference does it make that this is the last Big Game in the Pac 8/10/12? Is that really enough to get someone to go who wouldn't have otherwise? (Obviously, if we weren't still linked after this year, it would be historic... and sad.)

I was thinking the same - living in Long Beach I had planned on driving up for the game, and now regret it since it is so meaningful for the Bears! Had it been the last Big Game ever, of course I would have been there. Go Bears! Keep the AXE!

I agree. There will be a BG next year at Memorial. I prioritized the Cal-UCLA game. Gonna road trip it post-Turkey day. That's the last (regular season) PAC 12 game . Will Cal ever play at the Rose Bowl? Will we ever play UCLA again?

But if ticket prices drop a bit I still might end up going tomorrow

Why would prices drop when supply is low?

My wife, who works at Stanford Hospital (but is not in my opinion a Furd as she is a Cal alum) said that each employee was offered up to four tickets for free; however, the fair market value of the tickets would be taxable income reported in their W-2. I asked her to get us some tickets so we could invade a Stanford section in our Cal gear, but she didn't get around to it in time.

I'm really curious what Furd reports for fair market value, versus what is face value. It's obviously a lot less, but for an institution to put a number on it and report on a W2 is probably a first and slightly hilarious that they could be admitting face value for their most attended game of the year might be way to high.

The theory is they are not actually low, they are on Stub Hub which has dynamic pricing. Thus, if there are enough unsold tickets as kickoff gets closer the price will drop.

Right and some people who got the freebies find that no one wants to go a possible rainsoaked game, thus adding to the inventory.

i dunno i'm just hoping.

Enjoy the game in person if you going!

Get your cameras out; Navy Seals will parachute into the stadium. I wish it was Oski with The Axe.

The Palo Alto Police Department issued a traffic advisory for this Saturday, Nov. 18, as Stanford prepares to take on the UC Berkeley Bears at the 126th Big Game.
Heavy traffic on Embarcadero, El Camino and Sand Hill roads is expected beginning Saturday morning as officials anticipate a sold out crowd. The game is set to take place at 3:30 p.m., and the Navy SEALS parachute team will parachute into Stanford Stadium before kickoff, the advisory states.
The game comes as Stanford has lost seven consecutive home games dating back to last year, and its last conference win was at the 2021 Big Game, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

From the East Bay take 92 (continuation of the San Mateo bridge) over the hill to 280 and then south to Page Mill Rd. Drive down to the world of HP and the like and turn left towards the campus. We park just on the edge of campus on one of the streets named for universities and hoof it for about 20 minutes. We have never had traffic before or after the game. We're actually coming from over 100 miles away in the valley and there are theoretically faster ways of getting there but we prefer this no-hassle option.

Would make for an awkward situation if there were a Palestine solidarity demonstration at the same time. Furd and Berkeley students locked together at mid field, perhaps?

I just bought a ticket on StubHub and will be bringing my raincoat. Does anyone know if it is still $20 to park at Palo Alto High? I'll be going to the UCLA game next week too. Let's keep the Axe and go bowling!
