No, it doesn't happen. It's not about the coaching staff not letting them (although I'm sure that's part of it since they wanna spend the reps and coaching working on guys who will be on the roster moving forward) but the players don't want to risk injury when entering the portal. And one game doesn't usually change perception of their potential and resume

I doubt it. Once you say you're leaving, i think you've checked out of the unit.

Its also similar to guys leaving early for the NFL... Orr could get hurt in the bowl and miss next season, for relatively minimal upside.

The timing of the portals opening/closing is pretty unfortunate... it'd be better if it opened after the first week or so of bowl games. But that is at least partially driven by variance in finals, the start of spring clases, etc between schools. I'm actually amazed they are able to mix-and-match transfer credits and the like in the few weeks they have.

That all said, ff he wanted to play and the team didn't have a problem with it, I'd let him as a coach though.

Ii theory, you would think the grad transfers who were at for some time would want to go out with a bowl game. Guys like KEO would be in a different situation.

Fair, I just can't think of a situation where a player ever entered the portal and then played another game for the school they were transferring from (outside of transferring back or removing their name from the portal)

NFL draft prospects should sit out to pretext their future nfl contract money from injury.

And then the playoff selection committee should reseed the teams based on player availability.
