I agree but hope they hire Wilcox! (Hope springs eternal for Old Blues!)

Wait. Didn't Fisch just get the Washington job like 20 minutes ago? Where's he going tomorrow?

reminds me of a BBC Earth segment where crabs trade for larger shells at the same time

Interesting way to raise money for your athletic department by being a coaches clearing house. Will UW receive bigger buyout for Fisch from UM than they had to pay UA and in addition to what they received from bama.

Will UW go after Brennan at UA and steal another coach?

You sure they don't want Jonathan Smith?

The UW job was supposedly down to Fisch and Kansas' Leipold. Maybe they go back to the runner up?

Of course, Wilcox was a former DC there with experience coaching in the B1G, and is a Northwest native who will not likely get poached so will stay for years and years giving them "stability."

Moore named coach - not surprising since he was the acting head coach for 3 of the games played by national champion. Sounds like a lot of agents were able to get their clients press coverage.

It's gonna be interesting to see how the Sherrone Moore hire works out for the University of Michigan. Obviously the players wanted him, but you've just handed the reins to one of the most iconic college football teams of all time to a relative unknown with no head coaching experience other than the 3 games he covered during Jim Harbaugh's suspension.

This could work out famously for Michigan, but a high risk hire nonetheless, especially when Justin Wilcox was available.

It worked out at Stanford with Shaw.

Michigan, with $70 million in media revenue and huge ticket sales, is paying Moore $5.5 million a year, about what we pay Wilcox ($5 million) with our $10 million in media revenue. Wilcox's buyout is 100% of his total compensation while Moore's is only 75% of his base. If Moore doesn't produce great results he will be gone in two years. They will not extend him to 11 (even if he wins the National Championship). This is not that risky for them. It is really a low risk high potential return hire for them.

UM promoted Lloyd Carr in 1995 with no head coaching experience. He went on to win a national championship and several Big 10 championships, so it's worked for them before.

Moore also has been elevated at every program he coached, though his resume is not as long the resume of some other coaches that were alleged to be contenders. Moore also is considered a top recruiter. His appointment may not be as risky as it first appears.
