I mistook John Caliperri for Cal Athletics.

There are too many Cal's in sports.

Perhaps we should distinguish Cal's athletic program by renaming it the "San Francisco Bay Cal Golden Bears."

There is only one Cal and it is in Berkeley!

Not quite anymore. They changed their name to Pennsylvania Western University a couple of years ago, though they still frequently refer to themselves as PennWest California.

At least the airports are both on bay fill. Late 1940's planning was to build a third international airport in the bay off of Richmond/El Cerrito. The bay was to be filled for housing and industrial development, leaving only a deep water channel for ships.
