watch the Gaffigan take on "foliage" absolutely spot on. Then rhe buses of leaf people thru Kennebunkport and my town is epicCal88 said:
The timing of the game, Oct 12, is perfect for visitors, that being near peak foliage season there:

November is kind of the ugly month in the northeast, no foliage and often wet an grey, but the first half of Fall is great.

citrus bowl comes to mind 37-13 over Clemson. Complete ass kick. Are you asking a serious question? Good luck in 2034.cal83dls79 said:

There's basically only one: 2008 at Maryland (Jahvid Best throwing up on the field).cal83dls79 said:so walk me thru our big losses since then on the "East coast"bear2034 said:1992 Citrus Bowl was seriously a long time ago.cal83dls79 said:citrus bowl comes to mind 37-13 over Clemson. Holy cow, I don't remember this game, probably Keith Gilbertson's best game ever.

Not sure how Temple is in this conversation vs. much more successful programs. I would take a one point win on the road vs. N. Carolina, Ole Miss, et. al. vs. a killing of the Owls.sycasey said:bear2034 said:sycasey said:How about a little bit later?bear2034 said:1992 Citrus Bowl was seriously a long time ago.cal83dls79 said:citrus bowl comes to mind 37-13 over Clemson. Temple was really bad that year, but still that's a huge point margin.
The question was, when did Cal last "destroy" another team on the east coast? Just entering the Temple game as a candidate.mbBear said:Not sure how Temple is in this conversation vs. much more successful programs. I would take a one point win on the road vs. N. We got our revenge on Temple for the Garden State Bowl in the late 1970s.sycasey said:The question was, when did Cal last "destroy" another team on the east coast? I'd agree that the UNC or Ole Miss wins are arguably more impressive, but even though I thought Cal looked like clearly the better team in each game, we didn't really "destroy" them. Both were single-digit margins in the end. Temple got destroyed.

that's why I'm looking forward to it. I've always rooted for Pitt.gardenstatebear said:
Those of you who visit Pittsburgh for the game may be surprised by how nice a city it is and how unpretentious the people are. The campus and neighborhood around it are also nice -- one wall of the law school is the left field wall at Forbes Field that Bill Mazeroski homered over to win the 1960 World Series.
I was there! It was our only win of the year -- it was played late because of Super Storm Sandy (I think).. Kyle Boller was then a junior. A Rutgers fan turned to me and said, "is he a senior?" "No, I said. "He could turn into a helluva quarterback!," the Rutgers fan said. And indeed Jeff Tedfor turned Boller into just that.sycasey said:
Also, how could we have forgotten Tom Holmoe's parting gift to us, a 20-10 win at Rutgers?
