Any financial model that considers student gate receipts as a primary KPI is incredibly short-sighted.
Here's my take: by-and-large most people working in the AD are not "Cal people", and as such they are there to collect a paycheck, nothing more. To that end (and a similar problem exists with politicians), they're not going to want to invest in initiatives where the payoff comes a decade later because they may not be around to reap the rewards. Hence, the KPIs and OKRs that they set all have a very short time horizon.
.

Good point and that's why I'm all for calling out Markeisha and her bloated team any chance I get. She doesn't deserve to take the schools money, tank our program, and leave to her side gig

Knowlton is her boss, is the one collecting $1.3 million annual paychecks, and has made $millions and $millions of mistakes, mistakes so huge that it nearly ended our program and still could if Lyons does not replace him with someone who has a true love and understanding of Cal combined with vision, intelligence and experience in professional sports management and marketing (NONE of which he has).

You should call her out on her recent LinkedIn post ... Although I hear she is deleting all the negative comments
Give to Cal Legends!

https://calegends.com/donation/ Do it now. Text every Cal fan you know, give them the link, tell them how much you gave, and ask them to text every Cal fan they know and do the same.

crazy but true dept:

despite NOT offering all students FREE tixs for football & basketball games then setting real low sales metrics so she can claim the student section is "sold out" despite tarps covering 10,000+ empty seats & telling kevin kennedy she got no interest in helping with the wildly successful national billboard branding campaign, markeisha everrett is now tryna take credit for gameday coming to berkeley on linked in
https://www.linkedin.com/posts/markeisha-everett-6a24a7b_we-made-history-by-hosting-espn-college-gameday-activity-7249427674740236288-ydf3

a sharp monster reader observed that when multiple negative comments wuz posted re: her complete lack of involvement in gameday coming to berkeley that she then deleted those comments & now is restricting all comments to her current approved posters who r clueless as ****

gameday had absolutely NOTHING to do with her or the knowlton run athletic department, got it?...knowlton's "thank you" to fans is an insult to every person who bleeds blue & gold who is aware of how he for multiple years intentionally underfunded the revenue sports of football & basketball in favor of his preferred olympic sports until his enabler chancellor christ left office

espn gameday came to berkeley because the football team wuz 3-1 with a huge sec road win, the burner community wuz generating national press & chancellor lyons wuz actively lobbying on behalf of the university

let me be very clear about this, markeisha everett is a non innovative worthless bureaucrat that is only interested in promoting her own career (check out her twitter, u would not even know she wuz a berkeley employee)

One more billboard now up and running. Thanks to a generous donor our newest billboard just went live in Syracuse, New York. I know this one is a bit different since we're not actually playing at Syracuse, but we hadn't done anything in the north east yet. And given Jack Endries' family is from Syracuse and he's an indispensable member of the team this seemed like a natural fit.

Anyway, thrilled our donor community can continue to help spread the gospel of Cal across the world.

Go Jack and Go Bears!

Live action shot of the Syracuse billboard. Our strategy is (apparently) to put these in gridlocked traffic areas to force opposing fans to stare at them for hours on end. Go Bears! Defeat the orange people!
