When the Bears scored to go up 30-13, the mic man got on the stadium PA and said "Who's gambling today?"

And he said it again, in case you couldn't believe what he just said. And then: "If you're about to cover the point spread, give me a big Go Bears!!"

Your mother must be so proud, young man. Do your parents know how you're spending their money/your scholarship?

I've got nothing against gambling, but normalizing sports gambling for college kids just seems....wrong.

The mic men were hot garbage. Barely any cheers (not counting "make noise" on 3rd down. Never did the "Bear Territory" chant. Screwed up alternating Go/Bears 2 different ways.

Cal Band was great -- they actually played between snaps, for the first time in years.

Why...why...why in god's name do we have a DJ? Does anybody really want electronic dance music pounding in their ears during every break? And don't forget "Everybody clap your hands! clapclapclapclap"...

I thought this was great because I bet on the game. A real time shout out

I loved this DJ . You can't hear the band in most of the stadium. He was cool, played some good tunes and got the crowd going. Much better than the trad mic man who has been awful since Christ left Chicago. Very good upgrade and he had the crowd moving

I assume you bet on the Aggies, since the Bears didn't cover.

No, the Bears. Looking for more points but they didn't come

I assumed it was Hype Man that said that.

"Everybody clap your hands! clapclapclapclap"...

I actually like this, but maybe twice a game, not six. It's becoming annoying. And then there's the other hand clapping song, and playing seven nation army 8 times, and Habbas Law instead of replays (is there a rule about not showing replays?)

On the other hand, kudos for the Ted Agu tribute, Rich Lyons leading a cheer, students for showing up, free tix promotion to fill seats, new soap and paper towel dispensers, and the tall green IPA.

Indeed, there was much to like about the stadium experience yesterday. The Cal Band was bigger than usual, and played more often. The student section was full. There was a lot less video board nonsense: no kiss cams, hug cams, Simba cams, BART races....just the usual Bear Growls contest; and fewer shout-outs, on-field introductions, etc. So the hype man was actually pretty low-profile.

I noticed the lack of replay video. I wonder if that's an ACC rule.
