My first full week of wild guesses in our new conference was on par with my Pac-12 wild guesses. I went 9-7, bringing my season total to 10-8. Here's last week: https://bearinsider.com/forums/2/topics/121880
Same drill as always, odds are for the home team, my pick in italics.

Cal @ Auburn -13: Banged up team vs. SEC opponent in southern heat and humidity. Perfect recipe for Cal to surprise and beat the spread. My rationale: none whatsoever, but why not?

BYU @ SMU -10.5: Early season holy war, Mormons vs. Methodists. SMU will probably win but not cover.

Duke @ Northwestern -2.5: Hang tight Duke fans, basketball isn't that far off. Northwestern to cover.

Georgia Tech @ Syracuse +3: This should be a pretty good game. Tech covers.

Pitt @ Cincinnati -2: Should be a close game. Taking our new ACC brethren to beat the spread.

Jacksonville State @ Louisville -28: Louisville has the firepower to cover.

Charlotte @ North Carolina -22: Hoping someone is going to curb stomp Mack Brown, but it won't be Charlotte. NC covers.

Marshall @ Virginia Tech -19.5: VT finds a way to cover, probably by the old fashioned way of scoring enough points.

Virginia @ Wake Forest -1.5: Should be another close game. WF shows more demon than deacon to cover.

Tennessee @ NC State +8: This will be a fun game to watch. In the end, the Volunteers cover.

Appalachian State @ Clemson -17.5: Appalachian hangs around long enough to beat the spread.

No line for the following:

Duquesne @ Boston College
Florida A&M @ Miami
Cal Poly @ Furd

Florida State has a Bye week to contemplate whether they are not spending their NIL money wisely.

6-9 last week. 7-9 overall.

Auburn and giving points. With injuries, etc. Cal's offense doesn't keep-up.
BYU and taking points. Agree with Tex.
NW and giving point. NW wins a close one at home barely beating the spread
Taking Tech and giving points. Think Tech controls game and clock with its run game, keeping Cuse's good QB on the pine.
Taking Pitt and taking. points. Should be a high scoring game. Coin flip.
Taking Lousiiville and giving points. Agree with Tex
NC and give points. Charlotte looked bad against a bad opponent in game 1.
Marshall and taking points. VA tech looked ugly against Vandy last week
Virginia and taking points. Total coin toss
NC State and taking points. I took NC State last week based on experts saying they are a really good team and they failed to cover. Maybe second time is a charm?
Clemson and giving points. Sorry App. State is not Georgia.

At this juncture, FSU might lose to Bye.

Went 7-8 Week 1 (and 2-0 Week 0) for 9-8 total.

Minor nitpick UrsusT, I think it should have been Cal @ Auburn, not Auburn @ Cal, but we know what you meant.

Auburn -13 vs. Cal
BYU +10.5 @ SMU
Northwestern -2.5 vs. Duke
Syracuse -3 vs. Georgia Tech
Cincy -2 vs. Pitt
Louisville -28 vs. Jacksonville State
Charlotte +22 @ North Carolina (screw UNC)
Marshall +20.5 @ Virginia Tech
Virginia +2 @ Wake Forest
Tennessee -8 vs. NC State
Appalachian State +17.5 @ Clemson (screw Clemson)

Seems Cals bear must be the California Black Bear, though there is another type of bear that is local to "northern California."

Grizzly bears numbered about 10,000 in California before the European settlement. Though I think there are none now.
