SEC Shorts is a comedy sketch series on YouTube that usually puts out new videos every Monday during the college football season. It focuses on the Southeastern Conference, but will occasionally take a shot at other teams.

I strongly recommend turning on the closed captioning, not just to follow the dialogue, but because they hide jokes in there during the pauses.

Today's video recaps Week 2, and it mentions Cal-Auburn in the opening 30 seconds:

You can also watch Week 1 if you're interested.

Click "SEC Shorts" above to see all their videos, including one they made about Florida State and the ACC last season.

Week 3 recap from SEC Shorts. A little bit of ACC content, with the jokes about Ole Miss-Wake Forest on The CW and its weird camera angles (also apparent in their basketball telecasts), plus another dig at Florida State.

Week 4. They leave the ACC alone this time, but it's still interesting.

Week 5. Hope is a recurring character from when Georgia had title aspirations but was stuck in Alabama's shadow. There's a little ACC content: Kentucky gets a dig in at Louisville's expense, and Hugh Freeze rationalizes Auburn's losses.

Week 6. It is, not surprisingly, about Vanderbilt upsetting #1 Alabama.

Enjoyable to newcomers, but you would need to watch a few previous episodes to get all the callback references:

College Football ER
SEC Police
Pimp Vanderbilt
Death of Pimp Vanderbilt
Rebuild Contractor
Hope
Top 10 Meeting
Regina from SEC Loss Claims

The only ACC part of this week's video was seeing Florida State in the FBS Basement. Too bad there's no ACC Shorts sketch comedy troupe -- they might have done something similar back in 2020, when Clemson men's basketball won in Chapel Hill for the first time ever, after going 0-59 previously. Everyone was a Clemson fan that day.

Week 7. Kind of a letdown after last week's spectacular episode, but not bad.

I meant to post this a few days ago, but I've been mostly avoiding the Football Growls forum, which has become unreadable.

Week 8. LSU and Texas A&M really are the only SEC teams left who are undefeated in conference play, and they face off next weekend. And Florida was supposed to finish the season against 5 ranked teams before FSU started losing.

Week 9. All about Texas A&M alone in 1st place, with a new character who's kind of like a Reverse Hope. No ACC references again -- I'm not counting Notre Dame, still independent in football. They didn't even mention the Aggies' coach, who departed the ACC in a manner that was both sneaky and unnecessary.

I look forward to a season where all 4 P4 conferences are won by teams west of the Mississippi.

Week 10. Some solid digs at the ACC this week, at the expense of SMU, Clemson, and last year's Florida State.

That could happen this season.

ACC: SMU (7-1, 5-0, tied for 1st place)
Big 12: BYU (8-0, 5-0, 1st place)
Big Ten: Oregon (9-0, 6-0, tied for 1st place)
SEC: Texas A&M (7-2, 5-1, tied for 1st place)

Week 11. All SEC content this week, but a keeper. I hope LSU Drunk Aunt becomes a recurring character.

The main highlight of this week's video is seeing Pimp Vanderbilt become a phenomenon at the actual Vanderbilt game. Fans came in costumes, and actor Josh Snead, who plays the role, energized the crowd.

I don't get all (most????) of the references, but these guys are pretty clever/funny

BTW: what's up with the Rally Squirrel?

If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock and roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band

Yeah, I love watching these. I always get a good belly laugh from them.

A rare Week 11 Bonus video from SEC Shorts to reflect the latest in playoff discussion.

I did not see the Miami camouflage twist coming. (Those sneaky ACC chameleons!)

Week 12 goes beyond the SEC and looks at the Playoff Tree House. Watch for a helluva (engineer) cameo from Georgia Tech.

Week 13: a lot of uncertainty about which SEC teams are boarding the playoff train. Good time to focus on who wi... Squirrel!

Week 14: a couples therapy approach to recapping Rivalry Week, featuring FSU/Florida, GT/Georgia, and Clemson/South Carolina. Cal gets its second mention this season -- the win over Auburn was in the emergency room sketch from Week 2 -- but it's unpleasant this time.

FSU: "Maybe my detachment is just an attempt to numb myself for my real feelings about the situation."

Florida: "Yeah, his only FBS win is against Cal."

Therapist: "Oof, Cal. Maybe numbing is the best approach."

Week 15: Wow. Give SEC Shorts a real budget for the College Football Playoff episode and this is what happens: a very elaborate, high-tech, 8-minute film of Capture the Flag. (Is that Alabama on the military radar, or the USS Alabama?)

Lots of ACC content here. Definitely an appearance by automatic bid stealer Clemson (watch South Carolina roll her eyes) and SMU. But there's more, and I don't want to spoil it.
