Don't you know? If you have a lead, you're supposed to go into turtle mode and play super conservative to not lose. It's not a bad strategy in theory, but it never seems to work for Wilcox so why does he keep doing it?
Unless his goal is to get an extension and become a multimillionaire coaching us to not win games.

On one hand, they generated 38 points with clever play calling despite the worst OL in college football at any level. On the other hand, they did all that and still lost.
This is way worse than the 2019 loss vs Arizona St and the 2015 loss in Utah. You have to go back to 2006 to find a worse loss.
That was Targeting, I don't know how it was not. But the game should have never relied on that. The pass rush ran out of energy, and the defensive backs eventually broke against all the pass attempts they had to defend against.
Miami went 3 of 4 on 4th down. Again, the defense can't close out on 3rd and long late in games. Though this time, I felt the time of possession caught up to them, and they simply didn't have the energy.

I don't think Cal went into turtle mode. They scored on big plays and a pick 6. I don't really recall any long drives with multiple first downs. The Cal offense (o-line) just isn't that good and that restricts everything.

Wilcox is holding this team back. We should be 5-0 (2-0) in first place in the ACC and ranked. Instead we are 3-2 (0-2) in last place struggling to finish above .500
