The beauty though is I would trade JKS, Tedye, Jaydn, Nohl, and all of our nfl alumni for a new coach at this point.

Can't imagine a better recruiting trip for an aspiring Cal QB commit, storybook game and finish.

Some of y'all are negative as hell. Maybe he stays, maybe he doesn't; we'll know in about a week and a half (dec 3). His recent quotes have been very pro-Cal talking about appreciating being a priority while Georgia and Oregon already have 5* commits. Yes, Mariota was a mentor of his and Gabriel is a good friend which makes nikeU a major threat but whatever happens, happens. The bad first quarter of this game is not "the reason" if he flips

Like everyone else, I don't know if JKS will come here or not, but from a realistic perspective, that game could not possibly have helped.

Yeah for you old blues who value a big game victory above else it was a good day, but for anyone without such an esoteric bias, the reality is an anemic Cal offense limped past a ****ty Furd team to take top spot among the 3 bottom dwelling teams in the 4th worst conference.

The final drive was impressive but the day overall was awful. If I was watching this game and this season as a top recruit, I'd find it embarrassing that fans rushed the field after beating a 3-7 team.

And btw, this is coming from someone who was one of the first to rush the field today.

Y'all talking about a qb recruit?

Mendoza got SMACKED! (Tough kid!)
Better get some top flight OL if ya wanna land a top flight QB.

Hasn't there been a thread about how incredible our OL recruiting is, like, for several years? I guess that's just wishful thinking.

Do you know anything about recruiting? Recruits don't care much for the outcome, they care about the experience. And Cal rushes the field every big game win.

And attending recruits could not have hoped for a more exciting and [possibly] overwhelming experience, with the presence of so many high profile Cal greats like Aaron and Marshawn, and DJ, and Kyle Bollers, etc, a jam packed CMS, and 4 consecutive defensive stops in that iconic 4th Qtr (two punts and two 4th down stops for turnovers on downs), and two dramatic 4th Qtr TD drives, including the dramatic, game winning, crowd frenzying, historical 98 yd door slammer that culminated with the Cal QB getting absolutely hammered as he uncorked the game winning dot of a TD pass, and [likely] did not even see the spectacular catch by J Brady to snatch the lead in the final 2+ minutes before hammering in the final nail with innovative (for Cal) shovel pass to Ott for the successful 2 pt conversion. And being there to witness the rushing of the field by a stadium full of frenzied Cal fans. What was not to be absolutely mesmerized by for attending Cal recruits?

Looking back at my post from yesterday, I want to clarify that I'm not down on JKS and I certainly hope he comes. I was just in the middle of watching our current players bleed their eyes out to get a tough win for us, and I value those guys more than any potential recruit who may or may not join. Hope he does join and becomes one of the great ones like those we saw on the field yesterday.

4thGenCal jumping off the top rope in this thread - he knows what he's talking about more than any other poster on this board. So I welcome the good news, and will hope we get a terrific addition in the next week or two.

The Calgorithm and the rest of us would welcome JKS with open arms if he decides to keep his commitment. Jared Goff proved you can be a number one overall pick at Cal, so there's no NFL penalty choosing us over other schools.

I can't see any offensive players wanting to play for this staff unless they value a great education.

It was a terrific environment to host recruits. Full house and a win. The game looked beyond disappointing for 3 quarters but they came through in the 4th quarter and got the win. The recruits (not just JKS) got to see what Cal can be.

The 2004 team reunion was a great idea. Aaron Rodgers is a legendary QB. Had to help.

In fact, as Desean explained, excellence at Cal stands out more because you're NOT surrounded by 5*s. Look at the number of qb's who put up big numbers playing for top 10 teams, only to fizzle in the League because their 5* wr teammates overwhelmed their db coverage guys, based on talent alone.

I rushed the field because it's fun, especially after drinking all afternoon. Also, you have to try to revel in small victories when you can considering we're stuck with a coach who hasn't beaten a decent team in I don't even know how many years.

I have no delusion that I'm not part of the embarrassment when I've been following a team with a 6 win ceiling year after year. But I also have the awareness to realize it's pathetic that we rushed the field after beating a 3 win team in a coach's 8th season.

Just have a pic with Marshawn, Rodgers, and Goff together. Maybe Calgorithm can put one together

You're missing the point. Fans aren't rushing the field because the magnitude of the win / upset. They are doing it based on tradition.

Our recruits said they had a great time. Not sure why you're trying to speak on behalf of them.

I'm honestly still amazed by this take. To call a weekend like this "awful" or "embarrassing" shows just how out of touch you are. Let's recap:
- Aaron Rodgers, DeSean Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, Jeff Tedford, Geoff McArthur, and other legends were in attendance, personally addressing recruits.
- Full sellout crowd in one of the most beautiful settings in college football on a perfect weather afternoon
- 4th quarter comeback win with an electric crowd and environment recruits dream of playing in
- Emotional locker room after the game, showing the passion, brotherhood, and dedication to the program

If you think a recruit would watch all that and be embarrassed, the only thing embarrassing here is your complete lack of perspective.
