I entered Cal in 1962 and have seen many coaches and AD's. Some good some very bad. Jeff Tedford has always been one of my favorites. So glad he made comeback at Fresno State and happy he was here for the 2004 reunion. My question: would it ever be possible to hire Tedford as a "consultant" to our QB's? I know other schools have consultants, some many more than our entire coaching staff. I think it would be good for Tedford and for Cal. Might even be able to employ him to give some better offensive plays. Go Bears!

Just having JT around the team would be special. I am not sure if he wants to be back "full time" even in a consulting role. His years with the Bears will be forever cherished by me and my family who had season tickets for most of his years! Go JT!
Bring back bottled beer and cigars at CMS. Should get us back in the Rose Bowl!

We were giving out TDs to Furd, until he walked on the field, immediately followed by a stop and TD drive...

Id say having him on the field makes a difference haha

The irony of this comment coming from someone with your handle is fantastic!

An Advisor role like how he helped Chris up at Washington?

Couldn't hurt to have help from the coach with the most wins in Cal Football history.

I'm not old enough to have seen Pappy's teams, so I'm glad to have watched Cal Football at its best under Tedford. More wins than any other team in the modern era along with more stars to the NFL.

He had some good years, but let's be real...

Zero Playoff/BCS appearances
Zero Rose Bowls
Zero New Year's Day bowls
Zero conference championships

but he did win the Armed Forces Bowl!

Tedford is Cal's "winningest" coach. He is also Cal's "losingest" coach.

Wilcox is 50% of the way there. At his current pace, Wilcox could become Cal's "winningest" coach 8 years from now.

And all of that is worth a hill of beans, unless you really like beans.

Did you know…?

Tedford coached for 11 seasons and never tried a fake FG…
