I thought it would be useful now that the transfer portal is open that we keep all communications about players coming in (not going out) in one thread.

If you find it convenient, please post all transfer portal news in this thread.

Boise State redshirt freshman quarterback Malachi Nelson plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after one season with the program.

Nelson signed with USC out of high school as a five-star prospect, but left the Trojans after one year where he appeared in just one game. He ultimately transferred to join the Broncos, but was beat out for the starting job this season by redshirt sophomore Maddux Madsen.

huge california golden bears welcome to impact defensive lineman notre dame transfer 6'5" 300 lbs tyson ford with a huge recruiting assist to aidan keanaaina (arguably the bears most effective d-lineman this season in terms of making plays behind the line of scrimmage)

ford will be graduating this may in south bend & will then relocate to berkeley with 3 years of eligibility

tyson is NOT a dumb azz, he got a 3.4 gpa & wuz not only an all american bowl game (san antonio) selection but also a 1st team all state missouri academic honoree

2025 fall ball could potentially result in both tyson & aidan lining up next to each other on the d-line!!


notre dame university (shocky loves the campus coore & crenshaw minimalist designed warren golf course)=#1 ranked defensive line feeder school for the university of california, berkeley

welcome to the bears family fellow zony kicker 5'10" 165 lbs charlotte transfer kyle cunanan from sunnyslope high school in phoenix!!...he got 3 years of remaining eligiblity


cunanan got a great looking stroke with the unique #98 jersey & wuz 5 for 5 this year on field goals, in 2023 he wuz 9 of 15 n field goals including an impressive 5 of 7 from 40-49 yards...in his collegiate career he is 21 of 21 on extra points

kyle is NOT a dumb azz, he got a 3.73 gpa

pro tip for kyle's parents: the day the 2025 cal football schedule is released book ur flights on southwest

wishing kyle cunanan nothing but the best both kicking & in the classrooms of berkeley!!

the university of california, berkeley=#1 ranked public university in the WORLD (including the ladera taverna y cocina)

I would be okay with an extended deadline for players from playoff teams. I would even be okay if they committed elsewhere, but were allowed to finish off with the present school (not that their new school would love that chance of injury etc)....

Players on playoff teams have the opportunity to put their name in the portal for 5 days after the day their "old" team is eliminated.

One problem is that many players, and this Penn State QB is a good example, would miss out on many of the teams looking for a portal QB if they waited until January to put their name in the portal. (A player in the portal can already continue to compete with their "old" team, but even if the team wanted them to continue, the player would still be risking injury, as you mentioned.)

Maybe this is just me but I don't give a damn about silent commits. If you're committed then make it public and official. If you don't and you're still considering then it's not a commitment at all, it just means you're a finalist. And it just gets you excited for something that might never happen and feel like you lost something that you never really had

bearly clad, there are multiple legit reasons for silent commitments such as academic admissions confirmations, courtesy notifications to other program's coaches, family/school celebratory signing days such as birthdays, under the radar gems to avoid poaching, tryna not create positional instability of current players prior to a bowl game, necessary nil confirmations, etc

ur simplistic approach to silents is not realistic in today's college transfer portal era

Silent sounds great to me, as long as it's legally binding. Otherwise, I'm with clad. It serves as nothing but clickbait.
