That's a highly questionable time.
He never come anywhere near that during his high school career as a soph, junior, or senior. Probably more likely a 10.7- 10.8 guy.

He ran 21.61 and that was with a 1.6 mps wind.
Apparently, I'm more familiar with his track career than you are.
I included a link to his times, but you seem to have ignored it.
Adams did not compete at the State Meet his senior year.
He also did not start (DNS) his junior year in the State 100 even though he was an entry.
Was he not up to competing against Aiden Harvey who ran 10.48 and won?
He wasn't entered in the State 200 either, but his best time was 22.07
Anyone who's run the 200m will tell you that's a far cry from 21.61
The State Meet was cancelled his sophomore year (Covid)
His 10.48 was a long time ago and with a 1.6 mps wind (legal) back in 2019.
I'm not saying that he isn't fast.
I'm just saying that he's nowhere near Jahvid Best or that 10.49 that he ran a long time ago.
And if you noticed the progression in his times, they got worse, not better throughout his high school career.
I was at the CIF State Meet when Jahvid won the 100m in 10.3 and came in 2nd in an epic 200m Final showdown with Poly's Bryshon Nellum.
I still get "goosebumps" watching this.
Lane 5 and 6.

Yes, I remember that race. Jahvid got smoked pretty decently (by .24 sec. - that is getting SMOKED) by Nellum. That's what got him the 20.67

He picked us over other good options like Vanderbilt so I'd think he'd have to understand that. Even if he didn't, I think it is incumbent on our coaches to at least be open and find recruits that see Cal and the Berkeley environment as a positive and want to be here. Of course, the best recruiters will be coaches that love and get Cal and can sell Cal enthusiastically. We will see.

I highly doubt that is why Javian Thomas entered the Portal: Great student, local guy, involved in charity in his hometown, future hometown star, clear starter with Ott signing with Oklahoma.
But to your point, the Cal Legends collective would have plenty of money if Ron Rivera were the coach or was a true GM.

So you think he is coming from Liberty to Cal because we outbid the competition? Maybe.
Yet, we just lost our entire RB room. Losing Ott to Oklahoma hurts, but is understandable. Javian Thomas in the Portal: great student and person, hometown hero involved in Oakland charities, the presumed starter with Ott gone and leaving without a Cal degree…. People are doing tying to defend the new coaches saying it is about money, which would negate the first hypothesis.
In any case, Cal Legends would have ALOT more money to work with if Ron Rivera were the coach or was a true GM.

Unfortunately, our greatest strength - academics - has had the least interest among the majority of hs recruits, especially the highest ranked of them. We might be in a little better position on that score for the portal kids - there are more of them that have seen the light from career and NFL standpoints.
Probably. Snapping for punts.Bobodeluxe said:Good. He will be busy.Nofado said:
