Desean certainly was an asset to this year's LB Wilson squad - I viewed three games. He was vocal and genuinely involved with these young men. They responded and due also to first year veteran coach Travis Clark, went to the D9 CIF finals for the first time in 99 years - only to lose 14-13 to a tough Highland team that went to the state game.. In college, he will need able assistant coaches and it seemed that alot of what he wanted to do with the Bruin offense, was not achievable with these young players. Head coach responsibilities will also need to be fined tuned, but I have a feeling he will put the parts in place. Wilson ran some pretty incredible plays this year with our WR Max Barbee being selected All CIF with a commitment to Columbia. All good for DJ although the team will miss him dearly!

This is bittersweet for us in the LB Wilson football community. Big congrats to DJ who is also taking Wilson first year HC Travis Clark with him to Delaware State as an assistant coach. With coach Travis, DJ will have a good hand on organizing and running a football team. Travis took Wilson to the CIF D9 finals this season from nowhere and is incredibly organized and motivated. Four other local Moore League schools lost their head coaches this season and traditional powerhouse LB Poly has yet to name their replacement. Along with the departing coaches, high school players are transferring and moving in and out of the league in big numbers. I wonder where they are getting this from???
