Good for him. I've been saying for years that our best bet was to try and get him in as an OC or HC before his career rockets out of our orbit but that time has officially come and passed. He likely never would've seriously entertained it anyway since he wants to be an NFL coach and we obviously didn't have the money to move on from Wilcox anyway.

But congratulations to Davis! He went from a career backup getting coaching offers his last 3 (at least) years in the league, to a QB coach (and passing game coordinator?) and one year later he's interviewing for HC gigs. Whether he gets it or not he's not an insider's secret anymore, his star is on the rise and he'll be in the head chair somewhere before long. Good to see our Pro Bears chasing their dreams and making it happen!

Impressive but not surprising. He was a tireless eat, sleep, and dream about football guy in his one year here.

After his rookie year in Buffalo they apparently offered him the QB coach job but McDermott told him to just stay on as a backup for more money and less grueling hours while doing the same job. Josh Allen credits him a lot with helping him develop into the QB he became (likely MVP this year).

Then he was still getting coaching offers but decided to go be a backup for one more year with Daboll in NY and helped Daniel Jones learn the terminology and have the best year of his career and get paid.

Now he's in Denver and it's his 2nd official year as a QB coach and he helped Bo Nix develop to be a ROTY candidate (he'll probably finish 2nd or 3rd).

He's worked with 3 coaches who are known as good offensive minds (Payton, McDermott, Daboll) who have heaped praises on him and give him tons of credit for developing QBs and helping their offense run as well as it does. One of the Broncos YouTube channels does a funny thing where they highlight Davis on the sideline celebrating TDs before the play even happens because he just sees the field so well. He's supposed to be elite in film study and incredibly sharp as an offensive mind.

It might not be this cycle at 25/26 but he's gonna be an NFL HC very soon and I'd be very surprised if he doesn't get OC offers this offseason at the very least. He might not take them depending on the situation and him wanting to stay with Payton and the Broncos but he might be the NFL's worst kept secret as an up & coming offensive guru

If Ben Johnson gets a HC job after this season (very likely), and Webb has a chance to succeed Johnson as the Lions' OC, that would be a great opportunity for him.

29 is a bit too young for an NFL HC job, but as a talented coach in his early 30s he should have a shot at either NFL OC or NCAA HC.

DW must be salivating thinking about Derek Carr helming his offense if he gets the gig. At post game pressies they can alternate taking the sole blame for the L.

Little bit disappointing, but not shocking. He'll still get his chances soon, I was just going off of prior reports like this one but it ended up being disputed and apparently incorrect (at least for now)

Webb coaching the QB he succeeded in college would be kind of crazy.

My son was Center with Davis at QB. We know the family. All football all the time. Addi and Davis had this thing that they knew what each was doing instinctively. Both smart as hell FB minds. Me, not so much…

I always thought that Addison would be a hell of a coach and hoped he'd have a long future coaching at Cal. He (understandably) decided that career route and constant grind wasn't the kind of life he wanted to live and moved on.

More power to him, it takes a lot of self-awareness and maturity to make that decision at such a young age. I hope he's happy and successful with whatever he's doing now and obviously in all things for all time. If he ever does want to come back to coaching though . . . just know us fans would never be opposed to it and I'd hope there was always a spot waiting for him at Cal

That is very kind. Go Bears!
