I think you went a bit hyperbole with your link. First, the kids are getting pay for play now, so they are being compensated. Second, they basically want one transfer portal rather than two, and I think both the players and the coaches are better served having a better understanding of the fall season's roster in January, rather than having a projected roster that is going to change in April.
I also like moving the transfer window to Jan 2 -12 (aka after most of the bowl games). Though I don't think that stops the opt-outs.
