Fun day out at Memorial, figured I'd throw together some succinct notes for those who were interested in a high-level recap

- Cade was in a boot
- Not many injuries, Moko (OL) went down but limped off on his own accord
- Brown & JKS had some flashes, clearly have arm talent, but too many mistakes. Both threw (multiple) picks/would-be-picks
- EJ reportedly looked great, missed some of his throws as I got there 20 mins late. He played with the 3s tho
- Ott looks much healthier, great to see him making some sharp cuts
- Punter looks solid. Had a ball at 55 yds, 4.2 hang. Overall not as elite as Lachlan was but seemed fine
- Kicking was bad, though the snaps were perhaps at fault. I saw 5 total kicks, 3 were missed. The first was an awful, low line drive that was a complete shank. Then, during a later period Cunahan took 4 kicks, progressively getting longer: made the shortest one (30 yarder), low/bad snap on the next which he then missed wide, low/bad snap on the next which he hit the right upright, then made the longest one.

- Ron Rivera was out on the field the entire time
- I'd estimate a bit shy 1k folks in attendance. Maybe 700-800?

Overall, they kept the playbook very vanilla as is expected. Had a great time at our beautiful stadium! Go Bears!

eastcoastal....Thanks so much for your report on the day, and especially thanks so much for your passion about Cal sports--all Cal sports, but especially FB and BB....I entered in 1959 after our NCAA BB win in the final, then loss the next year in the final...Our loss in the Rose Bowl...But those were the years...We were like Michigan today---a great public education with Nobel Laureates, and great FB and BB teams since the late 40s....It has gone, but each year I show up with the same passion and hope as you express...My family for the most parts laughs to my face about my optimism each year about all things Cal---yup dad!! Yup Papa!!

But it never goes away and I will carry it forever. So for you, I wish you better than I had, but the ride is great. Enjoy and I hope being a Cal fan does not bring you too much frustration.

Did anyone pick up any authentic jerseys? That was the primary attraction for me... I'd love some details.

I dunno... seemed like Jaron was clearly the best QB out there today. Just to be clear, from someone who doesn't know anything. Just my 2 cents. What'd other people think?

I'd probably rate it Jaron, EJ, Devin at this point.

Not enough reps for EJ to see, but he was a bit of a surprise. Jaron had a few mis-steps and over-threw a fair amount during warm ups. However, he definitely seemed super relaxed even under pressure and very decisive during scrimmage. That's the part that seems missing with Devin, doesn't seem like he's seeing the field as well and hesitant. He's got a beautiful throw though.

Also seems like Jaron has a very strong arm, a couple of thows seemed to be missed bc he just threw so hard. And finally saw a wide receiver screen where the ball got to the WR in a hurry. I feel like we had a lot of late throws on screens last few years... maybe I'm wrong on this.

Also feel like Jet outshined Ott today. Jet definitely seems to run with more explosion and speed. Ott didn't break off anything special that I saw. Also, good news, seems like a lot of good young RBs coming up like Jayden Parker and D-T Chapman.

Finally, I do feel a bit of concern about WR & TE drops. Definitely feel like they need to work on hands more.

Interested to hear what other people thought.

Thanks for the kind words Odonto-- These last four years, being a tiny part of (in my opinion) the greatest university in the world, has been an incredible privilege. It's not lost on me how much of an honor it is to be part of Cal. I can't believe my time here is coming to an end, but words honestly can't express how much I love this university. It's so gratifying seeing everyone on this site's passion & love-- I will rep our Bears til I die!

A true golden bear right here… thanks for reminding all of us why we also should feel proud and honored to be associated with this university.

A bit concerning to hear that Cade was in a boot, but hopefully it's nothing too serious…
