They only received 'stipulated' temporary 1-yr interim appointments. And per 'Insider-with-knowledge' are expected to be gone by December, if not before.

The Chancellor is moving forward, deliberately. That's the way things progress at the University. Some folks questioned why he didn't come in, guns a' blazin', but he has a lot of stuff on his plate and a lot of constituencies to appease.
