CBS put out their final preseason predictions on bowl games this year. They have us playing OK. St. in Dallas for the First Responders Bowl. Looks like they already had the Holiday, Las Vegas, Sun, Alamo, and Independence bowls with former PAC teams selected and Washington falling to the LA Bowl for the PAC matchups so they have us getting slotted slightly higher for a non-traditional PAC tie-in bowl game. Honestly I think that would be a more than acceptable outcome for a season with a lot of question marks and high variance. It would be a fun matchup too and we could do a lot worse than Dallas in terms of bowl locations

Cal playing Hawaii in Albuquerque on Dec. 27th would be incredibly stupid and I love New Mexico.

We could have just gone to Hawaii as a 13th game and gotten a better bowl slot as small lift given this year's schedule

The only non-playoff bowls Hawaii will play in are the Hawaii Bowl and the LA Bowl (if Hawaii wins the MWC but isn't playoff bound).

When are we playing in Australia again? I predict Hawaii will be streaming most of their games there soon, so we can build on our previous strong attendance.

New Zealand would be a natural expansion for Hawaii and would be a great destination game. Hawaii is going ahead with the new stadium build. It will be interesting to see the dynamics of the MWC once all the "state" named schools depart to the PAC.

Granted, Hawaii won't be there. But, IMO Albuquerque on Dec. 27 >>> Dallas on Dec. 26.

Both of these bowls are hardly worth the effort. If that's the best we can do, it will be another nail in Wilcox's coffin.

Santa Fe is magical at Christmas time, I would like to go back, but it would not be good if Cal gets into a crappy bowl as too many of our fans still think "getting to a bowl" = success.

I'm not aware of any Cal fans who think that another 6-6 season constitutes success. The best you can say is that it's better than winning fewer than six.
