I would love to see him play both ways with limited reps on offense like Deion Sanders and Desmond Howard.

Reminds me of Deltha O'Neal
His patience waiting for and setting up blocks and moving around was special. Definitely has the skill set to be a great returner but dejesus is awesome at that for this year too.
I didn't get get to see the 105 yarder that was nullified, but the other one is amazing. He got through some tiny spaces, I don't know how. I was thinking of DeSean.

Thanks for mentioning that. He ran full speed in a straight line while making people not only miss but fall to the ground. I have no idea how he didn't get by that last linemen.

I had to watch it over and over to believe he did what he did. Never seen someone do that without cutting or throwing a move.

Deltha was smooth, he never looked like he was running fast. He glided in and out of harm's way and somehow made it to the endzone.

I haven't had the chance to review that play in detail. But to me it appeared that Masses had 2 or maybe 3 OSU defenders in front of him in a small corner of the field.
It is difficult to juke 2 defenders in a very tiny space to maneuver

1) The OSU guy makes a fantastic tackle.
2) #4 and #94 on Cal provide escort service, and that's not a good thing. #14, too! Turn around and block somebody. Don't turn into fanboy on the play.
3) #99 on Cal shows them how it's supposed to be done. Don't watch your teammate, find someone to block. Well done!
Hopefully, the team watches stuff like this and gets it drilled into them. Too many times at all levels, where there is a turnover, players want to watch the return-man teammate, or run into the endzone with them as if they are scoring, too. But you gotta not lose your head in excitement. Instead, if you see a turnover, your head has to switch gears and become a blocker. Just find someone and block them. Too often players run right past would be blockers and they end up making the tackle. #4 and #94 could have made pivotal blocks, but they were watching and celebrating.
#14, too. He runs 40(!) yards, blocks NOBODY! If he had blocked #3 eons ago instead of letting him run right by him, #94 would have taken out the eventual tackling lineman instead of #3 (because he wouldn't have been there) - and Masses walks into the endzone.
Sorry to pick on players, but there are lessons to be learned here.
