Got my season rolling with an unspectacular 7-6 count. The link to last week is here: https://bearinsider.com/forums/2/topics/128433 On to another week of proving to myself why I never would have made it as a riverboat gambler. As usual, odds are for the home team, my try not to laugh too hard picks in italics.

Southern Texas @ Cal -44.5: Nervous about this spread, but taking the risk Cal doesn't let up on the gas too early and covers.

James Madison @ Louisville -14.5: Just a feeling James Madison is just good enough to beat the spread.

Illinois @ Duke +2.5: Duke is pretty good, Illinois strong enough to cover.

Baylor @ SMU -3: Baptists vs. Methodists in early season religious war. Going with SMU to cover.

Virginia @ NC State -2.5: Should be a good game, with nod to NC State to cover.

Central Michigan @ Pitt -21.5: Pitt has the firepower to cover.

UConn @ Syracuse -6.5: Syracuse recovers from loss to Tennessee to do some shellacking of their own. Syracuse covers.

Troy @ Clemson -33.5: We supply the body bags, you give us a nice paycheck in return game. Clemson covers.

North Carolina @ Charlotte +13.5: The Belichick "How much more can I embarrass myself" tour continues. Charlotte covers.

Vanderbilt @ Virginia Tech -1.5: No idea how this one will go, but taking the home team to cover.

Boston College @ Michigan State -3.5: BC puts up a fight, but Spartans cover in the end.

Furd @ BYU -18.5: Furd is awful in all ways, team, band, mascot. They are the complete package. BYU easily covers.

Gardner-Webb @ Georgia Tech -37.5: Huge spread but Tech covers.

West Carolina @ Wake Forest -17.5: Even the Demon Deacons can cover this spread.

Bethune Cook @ Miami -55.5: Betting not even the Canes are merciless enough to cover this ridiculous spread.

Bethune Cook @ Miami

Never count out Bethune Cook against more recognizable name schools. Miami to cover late.

Had a senior moment and only picked 10 games and went a vanilla 5-5.

Start off with the easy one BYU covers
MSU covers in what should be a competitive game
Va Tech covers with Vandy having first game jitters.
Charlotte and taking points
Clemson bounces back and covers
Cuse covers
Central Michigan (no idea how to gauge this game)
NC State and giving points
SMU and giving points though this game can go either way, depending on who God listens to more
Illinois and giving points
JMU and taking points

So. Texas band wins a close won vs Cal band.

A few last minute adjustments. I forgot the Georgia Tech game, and added odds for some FCS matchups.
