Getting closer.
Is there anyone left arguing for Wilcox anymore? It feels like 100% of fans want a new coach.
I bet Wilcox knows it's time to move on.
The only issue are:
1. Timing of when we make the move
2. Whether to badmouth him on his way our, or hopefully (I would prefer), we just all assume he's gonna be out next year and concede he's a good dude but wasn't right for us as HC.
Next year, I would love to see either DJax or Sean Lewis as HC… but whoever it is, until he proves otherwise, I think we should just chill and trust Ron will do the right thing.
Everyone knows what's at stake.

-see blaming players for the better part of 9 years

Keep the MAGA crap out of your assessment, because it's irrelevant to his football ineptitude. Otherwise, I agree with everything you said.
I don't agree with the Paige Cornelius point either. That woman was full of crap; Wilcox didn't need to do anything to get out of that "scandal." Her story fell apart at the slightest scrutiny.
Otherwise, he's clearly been bad at running the program and should go.

tbh I regret this, actually. Just exhausted with this experiment and beyond ready for it to end. And it's not going to end right now so there's no point in kicking someone when they're down. I do believe JW gave everything he had to this job. I couldn't deal with trying to navigate the Cal morass, even if someone were paying me 5MM a year. I'd have done much much worse, much earlier. If JW or his agent fabricated the Oregon interest to secure a guaranteed extension, I take this all back, but I don't believe that to be true. I think it's just a guy who loves football and gave his heart and soul to the program and simply isn't a good fit to get it done. It seems like an obscene amount of money but it is what it is, and at this point he's an average coach making an average salary. We also played hard yesterday. It was an exciting game. The sdsu and duke games were disasters but this was a noticeable turnaround in effort. I just want change to come sooner and just want it to end. And I'm distraught about thinking of us jumping into a pool with yet another coaching position this year. It's just bad all around, and my anger really shouldn't be focused on JW, but rather, the AD who made this all happen and walked away with a retirement package that imo he didn't earn nor deserve.TedfordTheGreat said:bearsandgiants said:

I'm hopping onto this board for what seems like the first time in long while to say we need to move on. Still hoping for a Big Game win and a minor bowl for the interim coach.

Lol, its too late. you cant fire him now. You cant fire him at the end of the season ether. why, because its too late. If you fire him at all it had to by med season so that Rolovich or whomever could show the new direction like UCLA did. You fire him now or even at the end of the season and were going to look desperate like a dead ship (which we are) opposed to one just taking on water which would of been the case at mid season.
We are on the titanic and for the people who jumped off too late, they go down with the ship. Thats why the future of our recruits are in doubt.
He needed to be forced out long ago but Ron looks at him as a new coach since he's only been this close to the program for months and not like the 10-year loser he is.
The only flare this program can shoot up as the Titanic sinks is bringing on Desean, Marshawn, Aaron and other Cal greats like Colorado did and hope that works. Other than that Ron was our last hope and now whatever he does is too late and next year he leaves as his clothes get more and more wet. thus uncomfortable.
That said, maybe he's playing chess and doing it so that he takes the job and everyone is happy. He might be with all these inactions. We'll see. Either way he appears to be a bad chess player.
