I agree with the lack of discipline. 9 penalties in the first half is just inexcusable for the 11th game of the season.

We fumble about the same rate as Notre Dame/Alabama/Notre Dame/Texas Tech/Ole Miss.
So either their coach can't teach players to hold the ball or a lot of it is luck based/ defenses making plays.

Well, here's the thing: they had an incomplete pass on the first play (almost no time ran off), then a penalty to put them deep in their own territory. Running the clock is defensible on 2nd and 15 from your own 5, because two incompletions gives Furd the ball back in great field position right before the half.

Too bad situational awareness isn't a thing. Knowing not to fumble at the end of the half when the game is close isn't something that coaches ever tell their players.
