DaJohn Yarborough, Four-Star IOL, Commits To Bears

Cal continues to be a hot destination for recruits, as four-star Basha offensive lineman DaJohn Yarborough announced his commitment to Cal this afternoon.

Yarborough received 29 offers before narrowing his final four to Cal, Florida State, Mississippi State and Washington. The ultimate decision to commit to The Bay came live on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube Channel.

The Arizona native will look to be a central piece of an offensive line that’ll move bodies around to keep the Bears’ highly touted quarterbacks protected at all costs.

At 6-foot-5 and 340 pounds, Yarborough’s frame will comfortably command an interior spot for the Bears.

The Basha star is ranked as Arizona’s ninth overall prospect and the 25th interior offensive lineman nationally.

“I worked very hard for this moment,” Yarborough said after his commitment. “I’m proud of myself. I kept my head down, worked my tail off and kept working.”

As for why he close Cal over the Huskies, Seminoles and Bulldogs, Yarborough made it clear that relationships and comfort level were pivotal factors for the newest Bear.

“I felt like they got great relationships [at Cal],” Yarborough said. “I felt like I can develop into what I want to be. It felt like it’s home.”

The shift in culture and belief around Cal football continues to grow, now blossoming into a true home for recruits.
