Going to my first game in years! With 3 cal fans and yes 3 UCLA fans but they are cool ones. Two of them are high school kids and one in middle school. Two of the adults are sort of lukewarm fans.

The small restaurants are bars probably won't work for us. Has anybody been to Maxwell Field Tailgate Town or Oski's Village on the glade? We're thinking maybe just get some food from the vendors/food trucks and just findng a seat?

My only reservation is that I can't find anything online about the atmosphere. Is it good or is it dead? If it is dead, we may just eat a bit further away and then just walk through campus afterwards.

Can any Bearinsiders provide any good advice?

Alternatively, I'd suggest grabbing a quick bite at Top Dog or somewhere else nearby, and eating it on Sproul Plaza during the band pregame rally 1.5-2 hours before kickoff. You can then march with the band through campus, up to the stadium. This would be a good option for first timers (or veterans), young or old.

Very much so. Even have a bar. If you have never been it is a must. It is an architectural treasure.

This is great stuff. I will go to the Faculty Club! I walked there every day during undergrad and never went inside or for pregame

Yes and have football games on. Great atmosphere. Food is decent. Plenty of alcohol. The only thing is don't get there too early. I think they open the bars and food 3 hours before the game.
