I went for a walk around Memorial, and I was amazed by the amount of activity in the west-side of the bowl. There are a lot of temporary buildings hindering different angles of view, so I ventured into the mud on Tightwad hill to capture the action.
Yes, that's dirt on the west-side bowl... The retaining wall is visible near the South tunnel.

You can see a tractor on the left moving dirt in a deep ditch.

In this next pic, you can see that the press box is a skeleton, while the cement is being crushed in the middle of the field. The two field-level tunnel entrances are visible as well.

Another tractor was removing dirt from the side of the bowl, while you can see 2 of the temporary structures above the east-side in the foreground in these pics.

This excavator was single-handily grabbing between 5 and 10 rows of one section at at time and crushing them into small pieces. I was amazed how easily it demolished the sections that I failed to capture the event. It made me really glad we didn't experience a major quake in these later years during a game.

In the following pic, there's a tall stack of metal bleachers. It looks like they'll be replacing the wooden ones on the east-side with these, since a crew can be clearly seen removing and stacking the wooden bleaches in the second and third pics.

This pic shows the view from the Cannon area. Someone placed a couple of plastic chairs up there for your viewing comfort.
