I also created designs for sweaters, hoodies, long-sleeves, kids/toddlers.

It's all made-to-order so they'll print and ship. They say their turn around is a couple days so it'll be a lot faster than having me in the process.

I just set it up last night but have been looking at this service for a couple weeks. I just ordered a shirt for myself this morning so I have yet to see the production quality.

Most of the shirts on AA (their Jersey T).

For fun, I tried to do a thong with the design but, alas, the design was too large. :cry:

...? i never indicated i was producing tanks for a frat. i asked you about the possibility of using the design to print onto tanks and sell it to students directly, since as i'm still an undergrad here, distribution would be a lot easier. you thought it was a good idea for me to start generating interest for the tanks, up until the point where i got multiple orders for the tank, and you stopped responding when i asked you to send me the design image file to give to the screen printing company. don't know why it'd be a big deal to you since you said you weren't trying to make money off these, and since you're still not offering tank tops in your store.

what i did say about "some frat" was that a few frats, including a house i know well, were already making a design based off the same concept. and this was the image i sent you:

If you want some folks to go over to the tri delt house to....uh....confiscate the infringing tanks, I'm sure we could get a group together.

Which is very different from "I'll send you the design" which is what I never said but you insisted on. That's why I never responded.

And, seeing what's happened here, perhaps you understand why.

Anyway, I was just asking not accusing. Granted you were the only one that made this request, also mentioned you were going to do tanks, sounded like you talked to frats, insisted I send you the design and, finally, are the first to respond to this and asked how that person found out. Suspicious, no?

I'll take you at your word as that's the only thing I can do.

It's not a BIG deal but you probably don't understand the effort I put into this. It would be one thing if they took my design as motivation and created something new. But they literally copy/pasted the bear + bridge seal.

Trust me, I can tell. I've put many hours and recreated every piece of that graphic by hand. I know how my creation differs from the actual logos (both the bridge and the bear). My stuff wasn't just copy/paste. In fact, I have 5 different designs that I made all different and subtle takes until I settled on the final piece.

It's not about the money... but considering how much effort I put into it, if anyone is making money I rather it be me than someone else who copy/pasted my work.

Lastly, it may not have seemed obvious to you but I wasn't in a rush to just throw it out there because I care about creative control. If the tri-delts wanted me to produce a design for them, I would've... but certainly not with those horrible fonts in that bad layout with non-matching colors. Who knows? Maybe I would've.. but at least it would've been my choice.

Two more things:

1) While that's the same concept, that design is horrible. But, hey, at least they made it which I can respect. It's also worth noting that "The City is Bear Territory" is not something I made up. Someone else here came up with the phrase and "SF is Bear Territory" is part of Cal's marketing slogan.

2) I wasn't in a rush to produce tanks because they are impractical and I wanted to be sure my first order all went through. You're still a student but I have lived in SF and work by ATT Park. They may have been useful for the first game but will unlikely be able to be worn at any other game this season as the city is much cooler than Berkeley and is very chilly at night.

Minor caveat: For the background I use "Yale" Blue which is the official Cal blue. For the actual t-shirt, I'd use their Navy colored shirt. I guess the other caveat is that the other version uses California Gold and I'd use whatever Gold they have.

It's a limitation of the store. They dont' produce tanks. If they did, I would. Sit tight.. I'll try to find somebody who does.

Yeah, I know we had a couple emails but, honestly, it became a real time sink. I was already spending my nights getting my first order through, printing hella labels, bagging, shipping etc.

Maybe it's splitting hairs but I'm not mad at the concept being used. Again, I took someone else's The City concept here but made it very different than what they had. Given that it's a 50 year old design, I apologize to the designer if he's turning in his grave.

If they used the concept, but produced it on their own it would be all good. But I can tell this was a copy/paste job as even my production is not exact but what I see on that pic is exactly what I made.

They should play this song at AT&T Park for Cal as an unofficial 4th Quarter song....or maybe somebody can make a post-season montage out of it. It's catchy --
