Drafting Vereen in Fantasy?

Just curious if any of you guys have drafted him or are planning on. I just got him on my last round of the draft and will keep him as a project to see if he gets more carries mid-season, which I'm hoping he does. I know he had his hamstring issue and there are a few other rb's there, but I couldn't stand the thought of him doing well and someone else beating me to it and picking him up before me. Yahoo has him as 4% owned.

I also got:

D. Jackson
J. Best
T. Gonzalez
R. Longwell

Bummed I was beat by one pick for A. Rodgers, though! Also, I wonder if we should keep an eye out for C. Stevens.

No need to yet. Although if he plays in preseason game 4 and does decently, I'll think about stashing him on my bench. He needs Woodhead or the law firm to get injured, and he should start getting some carries.

Ridley is the Pat back you want.

I picked him up as a late round flier. Unsure of the playing time he'll get since he got injured but I figure that the Pats will use him since they drafted him in the 2nd round.

Your league must have either a huge number of teams or plenty of team roster spots to be wasting a pick on a player that probably won't see enough action to have any impact from a fantasy perspective.

If he heats up for whatever reason (entirely possible during the season), grab him off waivers asap.

Otherwise, there isn't a non-biased/homer reason to have him on your team right now.

You said it best, and that is exactly what I would try to do if he wasn't a Bear. The problem is that my heart gets ahead of my head and I can't let him go. I would leave him off, but last time I always seemed too low down the waiver line and other players always snagged the free players I wanted mid-season because they were higher on the list than I.

Well, if you really want him, there is always 1 last spot on the bench for your "sleeper sleepers", imo. (Like Roy Helu...who? exactly)

Patriots wouldn't have drafted him in the 2nd round if they didn't feel like he could:

a) contribute soon
b) be able to rush and catch the ball out of the backfield

The only problem is that his hamstring issue has prevented any evaluation of him. I would wait to see if he plays in this week's preseason game to make any moves.

I used my last pick on Jacquizz Rodgers. I did not consider taking Vereen.

I thought about this, but decided against it and took Vereen instead. Rodgers has a logjam of RB's in front of him, while Vereen (although injured) has a better chance of playing IMO
