Cal Alumni association is doing the usual pre-game pre-paid tailgate, plus a no-host tailgate option. There is also something Friday night from the Alumni Association.

There is an extensive thread from 2-3 weeks ago but you'll have to search for it. Too slammed to look for it myself.

I'm flying in on Friday evening. We're going to the Rockies-Reds game at Coors Friday evening and staying in Boulder. Not sure what we'll do...I'm going with a Cal buddy, his son and a good friend who is a CU alumnus...we'll let the Buffalo be our jungle guide for the weekend. Looking forward to it!

Pearl Street reminds of 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica.

Stayed in Boulder for the first time a few years back when we played Colorado State - a happening place! Going back this Thursday with a couple of friends and expect to see all the Bears in town at the Lazy Dog Friday night. Hope we'll be well represented.

My brother and I are flying out Saturday morning, renting a car to make the drive from Denver to Boulder.

He has to fly back out from Denver on Sunday morning to the Bay Area - I have to fly out to Dallas for a conference that week.

Not the longest road trip we've ever done - but looking forward to it nevertheless.

Go Bears!

Leaving Thursday and will play Cherry Hills, Castle Pines, Sanctuary and Common Ground before the game Saturday...have never been to Boulder and the rush of seeing the grass on new stadiums and the Bears warming up as you enter the battlefield is always a rush that is undeniable...gotta 9:00 flight home so if you see a rental car weaving thru traffic after the game like its the Grand Prix in Monte Carlo just yell "Go Bears!" at me and I'll let you cut in, ok?

The key to the game in my mind is the injury to Bashkitari, the Buff's LT that is described by the great Coach Marshall as their best lineman... can you imagine the world of hurt we would be in if Schwartz was injured at LT and he had to play Rigsby or Tyndall?

Boulder rocks. MAJOR upgrade for away game travel. Now, if we could just dump the arizona schools.
To those renting cars just to get from Denver to Boulder, the shuttle runs essentially around the clock to multiple locations in Boulder. Much cheaper, no parking and the university/happening parts are all walkable. The weather looks clear, too.
Which two Golden Bear head coaches made their debuts in Boulder?

Do you have any more info on the shuttle?

Yeah he won there.

I was pretty keen on making this trip back when the game was announced, but since we're in the same conference now it's no longer a once in a lifetime roadie (once every 4 years now), so I would rather fly in from the east coast for a pair of games in Berkeley instead.

Mike White - 1972 (lost)
Joe Kapp - 1982 (win)

Joe Roth also made his Cal football debut (as a placeholder) against Colorado in 1975.

Here's some important information regarding stadium security:

http://www.colorado.edu/news/r/5961a3e5801e6fe3a79f363d5333f124.html

There are new security and safety protocols in place this year. It makes me wonder if Folsom Field in the past has not been a safe place to view a game. These people sound pretty strict:

Quote:

In addition to the ban on alcohol in the stadium, whole fruit, marshmallows and other items that could potentially injure other people if thrown, also are banned.

Cal doesn't have the word nebraska in our name, so it might not be a complete madhouse on saturday.
