I'm looking to find a good bar with numerous Cal football fans to watch the game against Colorado that is in San Mateo or anywhere on/near the peninsula.

3rd Ave Bar & Grill in San Mateo. Lots of TVs and Cal game is almost always on. If not, you can ask for it on one of the TVs if there's a bigger game on.

Good brews on tap, decent menu, and they serve the Amici's pizza next door.

I was in purgatory after graduation (90's) and lived in Burlingame for 7 years while working in Foster City. ( Yeeesh) It was a very tough place to find good bars to watch games but there was one place on the main drag in San Carlos that was pretty good as well as Knuckles at the Hyatt Regency... My favorite bar, Bit of England was taken out several years ago from Burlingame ave... My advice, head to the city and stay out of there..

A small group of us are planning to go to St Johns in Sunnyvale, if you want to trek that far south.

I'll second Kugabear. The Alumni Club of the Peninsula has gathered here for game viewing parties - they have a large projection screen as well as plenty of smaller screens. And they do have good beers on tap.

BJ's in foster City is the largest Sports Bar near San Mateo...off H-92 just east of H-101. Micro-brews and large menu with full bar as well.

I think you're referring to Sneakers on San Carlos Avenue in San Carlos. Pudley's on El Camino Real is pretty good too, and probably more accommodating. Good selection of beer, very good burgers and friendly bartenders and regulars.

American Bull in Burlingame, in strip mall off El Camino near Peninsula Hospital. Plenty of big, HD TV's and good is pretty good.
