I saw this video and just had to share it. This kid looks like he's going to be a beast. I wonder what position they'll have him focus on.

Watch the video and listen to the guy near the end, where he says Shaq is following his brother to Cal... I'm not saying it's true yet, I'm just saying he said it.....it's probably a mistake so I was just kidding actually.

Shaq is not committed to anyone right now.

Signing day is in Feb 2012.

we won't know if it's true or not until the USAAA Game or signing day, but recruiting analysts say that stuff about Shaq "following his brother" to Cal to **** him off. it's stuff like that which makes him want to take visits and respond to people saying that by saying that he'll make his own decision. it doesn't help us at all when people call him a "Cal lock", whether or not he is.

not directing this at you, CF2. i know it's what the guy on the video said and not you. just think the context should be clarified.

Shaq is up closer to 240 than his listed 210 right now. there has been talk by some analysts about him moving to LB, but he is gonna just be a beastly SS. think Taylor Mays, but with coverage skills.

Not accurate, i just seem him play against Long Beach Poly about 2 weeks ago at the most the kid is 225 and thats even a stretch hes around 210 215, either way tho the kid is BEAST!!!!!!!:gobears:

Not saying this isn't true, but why or from where do you get the impression that 1) analysts are doing it on purpose to upset him (and I'm inferring here, but also are aiming to make him not want to come to cal)? and 2) how do you know that hearing cal fans talk about him as a "lock" pisses him off?

That totally woke me up when he said that Shaq will be following his brother to Cal... probably not true (yet), but sure did surprise me

He actually has punted. I don't think he's done the placekicking as Grant has a pretty good kicker for that.

you saw him weigh in and walking around without his pads on, or you just saw him on the field?

i can tell you the kid has bulked up since last year and is absolutely yoked, and he was showing up to camps all summer weighing over 240. he may have trimmed down some going into season with workouts and whatnot, but i would highly doubt he dropped a full 30 pounds since the summer.

I'm mostly amazed that, in a video less than 2 minutes long, he spent 17 seconds telling us he has the same first name as Shaq.

Rodgers wasn't "such a" big name? Rodgers was a no-name! We were recruiting his TE, Garett Cross, and nobody knew about Rodgers.

I think others knew that AR was a possibility; it's just that he had been there only one year and everyone else assumed he would stay for his second. Someone at Cal looked up his HS record and saw that he was eligible after that first year. JT pounced and left the others flatfooted. All this in conjunction with the Garret Cross recruitment, of course.

Didn't want to so start a new thread, but is true that Shaq will be in Seattle this Saturday?

Grant does not play this weekend, so he would be open for a visit.
