Starting QB Price is hurting bad with two bum knees

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/huskies/2016241853_uwfbnotes18.html

And fans are clamoring for the firing of D coach Nick Holt for their leaky defense

This Saturday seems like an opportune time to go 4-0 and get some payback.

I forgot to post the "clamoring fans" thread

Although we Cal fans have complaints against some of our coaches, it hasn't gotten this bad yet.

Uh, were you around for our multiple blowout losses? In previous years the BI mods took the board down because the threads were so negative.

You must of had a mental lapse about Pete Alamar or Bob Gregory's BBDB!

In case you didn't notice, I am referring to this year only just as the articles and UW thread are. If you want to dredge up complaints re coaches who aren't here anymore, go right ahead. This season Cal fan complaints are much milder than those of the UW fans.

that we are feeling a "bit better" about the UW game because of their injuries..It's discouraging that after going 3-0 we still have grave concerns about this team (ie. the message board is right!)..Can Maynard get consistent? Do we have a pass D? Can our OL run block? How about PATs, punts and kickoffs? We had 3 and outs against PC? THIS is the game that hopefully some of us will get some answers..but let's hope for a healthy UW team, including their QB..and their fans getting after their DC is about as nuts as...well..as we can be right here! :p

Yeah, well just wait until we lose three in a row to Oregon, USC and Utah. With these internet forum boards, you are never that far away from a meltdown...

Haven't we had 2nd string quarterbacks have a career day against us before?

On other injuries: Jesse (Callier) had his hamstring tightness behind his knee, we think it's a hamstring. Chris (Polk) had a little calf tightness, and Princeton Fuimaono is probably the most serious, he got stepped on the lower part of his shin, top of his foot, and it swelled up pretty good so we have to assess that. The rest of them are not serious injuries.''

Hell, you're right friend 72CalBear yeah I want Cal to win but I want them to win becaused they played better, not because the oppoenent has to muster as many players as it can out of the local hospital.......Let's have the opponent at their best....with Cal at its best.....that's what I waited for all summer......Go Bears!

With all due respect, I call BS on this one. Do you think UW was thinking last year that it was such a sad state of affairs that we had Mansion at QB1? Do you think they were wishing Riley was back because they wanted to take us on "full strength?"

Injuries are part of the game. If we had to play with Mansion, then UW has to play with every injury they have. I would NEVER wish injuries on any player or team, but I will not cry over our opponent's injury woes when we will not be accorded the same "kindness."

UDub's D is not good. We should be able to run on them- and I hope that includes Bigelow.

Even on B/I we were talking about the huge hits the Dawgs defense took to graduation. They lost probably the best LB in the then Pac 10, and certainly one of the best dlinemen. It hasn't been until the last year or two Holt has been able to recruit good players, since the program was so down. Holt may be a bit of a hot head, but there he is a proven commodity as a d-cordinator.

Injuries are part of the game.[Dooooh, we were I thought touting Cal's chances because of a hopeful injury to a key player...?] If we had to play with Mansion, then UW has to play with every injury they have.[Mansion wasn't injured; he was what he was.] I would NEVER wish injuries on any player or team, but I will not cry over our opponent's injury woes when we will not be accorded the same "kindness."[Wow, well good for you; You're all heart.]

BS. UW is trying to set a trap, hoping that we will come in overconfident. These guys will all play, including Price. How he takes hits as the game unfolds may affect him, but only later.

Ditto the Holt dust-up. If his guys love him, they will play their asses off against us to prove the doubters wrong. If they don't, there's still the hope of the League to motivate them. Either way, they'll be tough. Our guys must be ready to systematically impose their will over them. It will take a good part of the game to do it, but they will.

UW is in bad shape? What bad shape?

It just sounds like he's little dinged up. That's like...normal for football.

Unless Price is officially ruled out for the game, doggies are not in bad shape.

In my opinion, Husky QB absence would be priceless.

Unrelated matter - if that was you posting on the Presbyterian chatboard, 72calbear, nice one! Classy post.
