Let me explain myself :p.

Last night, I had an incredibly vivid dream in which this Saturday's game against UW played out in my sleep. The players, uniforms, and plays were all accurate (at least on the CAL side), and the game ended with CAL winning 36-0 (yes, Giorgio missed an extra point :p).

This is not the first time this has happened. Does this happen to anyone else? Or should I seek professional help? :p

Every year right before the season begins I have a few "seasonally recurring" nightmares about Cal football. They are always the same...

Due to unforeseen circumstances the Big Game has had to be pre-poned to the first game of the season. Due to further logistical difficulties, the site has had to be changed to a local high school or junior college. I hear about the revised game site and time minutes before it is supposed to start. It takes forever to get to the game and inside the stadium. I arrive with only a minute or two left and standing room only. Despite the crappy vantage point, I ascertain that Cal is already down by too many points to mount a comeback. Game over. I spend the rest of the dream trying to find out if the results are official (everyone at the game has heard different things) and thinking about going into the season with one loss in the Pac 10.

I hate that freaking dream.

I had a dream that Cal played Virginia Tech in a BCS game last night. I couldn't tell if it was the RB or NC. I woke up before the game went final.

last season while i was studying abroad, i had a drunken dream that we beat oregon by 3.

Your screwed now buddy, once you start dreaming about it, its over. Pack the bags..and join the conga line of ROSEBOWLTILLIDIE.

oh every night i do with us whooping whoregon by 21 embarrasing $c owning luck and furd we pick him off 3 times return 2 for tds had the uw dream monday night close win in that game

No but I do have recurring nightmares about games where Cal loses the close ones.
THREE of them last year.
IF GT had made the FG vs UA.
IF Locker had been tackled in the endzone of UW's last series.
IF GT had made the FG vs UO.

I keep having them until the next game is played.

I have dreams about Cal games a few times per season. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, sometimes I am running around trying to watch the game without success. Sometimes I have dreams about playing in the game. Those are the best, as I tend to dominate the games like a god of war.

Normally I don't dream of Cal football but it's even rarer to dream of Cal football b/c the anxiety of getting the game started keeps me awake throughout most of the night.

I always dream that I'm at the Rose Bowl on a clear and sunny day watching Cal and Michigan run out to the field and I'm sitting at the 50 yard line next to Allison Stoke, who is attending the game with me, as my wife, pregnant with my son.

Maybe that's what blue turtles dream about. I actually remember fondly listening to the CD often in the Morrison Library reading room, in between classes.

I usually have quite a few dreams about a month or two before the season starts. I vividly remember a dream in which on the first play of the game, against Tennessee in 2007, we got a sack and forced a fumble in which we returned for a TD. Pretty proud of that one .

I have a recurring daydream where we suddenly have the equivalent of a good NFL team - not just in ability, but the look of the team, the physical stature. We crush every team on our way to an NC, and become known as the most dominant CFB team of all time.

I've had some vivid dreams about beating USC in the past.

Call me crazy, but USC is always the one team I fear the least in the PAC-10/12 and maybe my dreams are just "heroic fantasies" where we slay the evil Monster every time.

In my dreams, there's no Luke Skywalker v. Darth Vader fear and hesitation in us at all. We go Boba Fett on those fools all the time and win.

Ya me too, never about Cal football. But I do have this recurring dream about sleeping in during a final (after staying up all night studying for it), and running to Harmon (back in the day) to least sit for the 3rd hour of the essay portion.

Or the one where you JO on the 50 yard line of Memorial Stadium while 73,000 blue and gold clad fans cheer you on.

I've dreamt about watching upcoming cal games. In 2003, I dreamt we had beaten kansas state with long bombs to macarthur. The macarthur part came true but not the win. Most recently, in august, i dreamt we lost to fresno state and was like "WTH just happened!!!!" No dreams since.

I had that same dream for years after law school.
Only mine went as follows:

Early one morning I am walking through Boalt Hall.
I see my name as a student enrolled in a particular class, "corporate tax" or some such course; which I thought I had dropped.
I also see that the final exam for corporate tax is scheduled for that morning.
I run to the room to catch the professor.
I see all the students coming out of the exam room.
They say, "you are too late, the exam is over."

This must be a common phenomena of some sort. I also have a dream where someone tells me that my bar license is invalid and I have to retake the bar exam. DA HORROR!!!

It's very common. Strangely, I got the "student's nightmare" more often just after graduating than I did when I was in school. I put "student's nightmare" in quotes because there is actually a play about the actor's nightmare -- a similar phenomenon for actors, who dream they are forced on stage without knowing their lines.
