Completely agree. I think right now the weakest on the team. They are getting toasted on the outside, and they can't make a sack from rushbacker to save their life. Maybe we should move Kendricks back to OLB. I don't know.

the OLBs miss assignments all the time. It's a product of them being new to the defense for the most part.

It doesn't help that Pendergast doesn't seem to understand how to defend college offences

Didn't look like a catch live, but looks good on the replay.

this defense needs to learn to tackle the ball carrier...

Yeller, we could win this game and I'll still be demanding that Tedford be fired. I'm tired of watching games like this. This game should not be close, but its obvious that the UW coaches were prepared on how to attack Cal's Defense. Tedford and his coaches obviously didn't do any homework or make any adjustments.

He's rather unatheletic and probably doesn't belong as a starter, but none of the others have enough practice time to learn to play the position the way Pendergast wants.

And yet a defense a team does not make. I find it hard to be able to be so down on the entire team when the other half of the team clearly has schemed well against the UW defense so far.

We knew going into this game that UW's offense was good.

First, UW has a terrible defense. I thought so after watching them against Nebraska and after Cal's first series I could see that UW has a slow D-line and only 1 decent DB. Cal needs to throw the ball more. The running plays after 1 and 10 at the 11 were horrible coaching.

Second, I'm seeing the 2-4-5 line up used far too often. That defense is cute and might work on 2nd and 22, but Cal is using it on any 3rd and more than 5 and Price is eating it up. Its a stupid defense that has allowed Price to fail only 1 time on 3rd down agianst the Cal defense. If Cal wasn't being so bloody passive on D, we probably get at least one more stop if not 2, but that wuold require a coach willing to be aggresive and we know Tedford doesn't do that.

With 13 points on the board, my guess is that many Cal fans who didn't catch the early part of the game would assume that Giorgio missed another XP.
