I never noticed this before, and don't recall anybody mentioning this, but based on the footage seen in this youtube video (LINK), Cal had only 9 players on the field during Oregon's 2-point conversion from last year's game.

Even Alamar had at least 10 players against UCLA!

Apparently the ducks noticed it too - that's why they went for 2

That's also why they got it

That was talked about a lot last year iirc.

Along with GT false starting (WTF).

Hey brodog, from one bear to another, you gotta stop mulling over this. Let it go man.

I had totally missed this - I thought the Ducks just went for 2 based on some nuance in our formation. So if we had had 11, they may not have gone for it, and would have had 7 and maybe 14 later. And we would not have had to go for the 2-point conversion which we missed and would have (GT-willing) had 14 as well.

Aaaaaaarrrrghhhhh!!!!!!!

It's amazing how these plays where we are undermanned seem to crop up. Not just with Alamar on UCLA's successful fake punt in '05, but even on good plays like Kendricks' game-clinching interception against the Bruins in '09, we only had 10 defenders. Taken together those are 3 fairly key moments in different games in different years where we have had less than 11 men, even if one of them had a good result.

Typical of the many mental errors and bad coaching/ discipline that has cost us games. Details, details, details are what win wars (games).

I wish I hadn't watched that again. I got the same sick feeling when Tavecchio pulled his second attempt after his own false start.

This is after that 2 point conversion where we were pantsed in 2009 as well?
