Is there any doubt they are truly the 1%. Seems like perfect place to set up a tent city. That beautiful lawn at the top of palm drive. Who's up for getting a bunch of smelly hippies to occupy Stanfurd for college gameday? Then not leaving.
" />" />" />" />" />">.

Lets ignore Wall Street for JUST a second. Far better would be to "occupy panoramic hill" or "Piedmont" than Oakland City Hall. I have no idea why the "occupiers" are in my burg at San Diego City Hall rather than out in Rancho Santa Fe or La Jolla Country Club. Yes, it would force the media to DRIVE a bit but far better to try to really underscore your point. Protest at Larry Ellison's compound - forcing the media to really confront whether once you are worth 30 Billion you really need another....or once owing 8 houses the 9th is necessary to keep you working hard. If you want to protest in NY go occupy Central Park West and bang your drums there.

I am not sympathetic to these people. I tend to think they are mostly college kids who read way too much Marcuse in undergrad and are looking for the magic policy wand to make things better. But their PR strategy could be much better and they don't really "get" who the 1% are, where they live, and perhaps most importantly, HOW they live.

Sproul Plaza is a major pedestrian walkway on campus not really a Plaza as such.
