It's impossible to predict how Treggs (should he come) will adjust to D1 football. Everyone thought Bigelow and Moala would step right in and dominate, yet they didn't. Face it, there are huge questions and real concerns about our receiving corps with lots of inexperience.
Remember, Djax made his mark as a freshman more as a punt returner than a receiver. It takes at least one year at this position to find your way for most kids. Amazing the growth we saw from KA this season. Woods and Lee at USC are amazing talents and were also playing with a top five pick QB. That makes it easier for a kid to adapt when the ball is put on the numbers play in and play out. Like the way Maynard came along this season but he's never going to be that kind of passer.

Hope Treggs is the man and Bouza can be our possession receiver. Then we just have to hope we stay healthy. This season was the healthiest season we have had in years. Might be the hardest thing we have to repeat next year!

His big year as a PR was his soph year. Desean had 600 yards receiving and 7 TDs as a true frosh which is pretty good - on par with Marvin's soph year and just about 150 fewer yards than Marv has had each of the last 2 years.

I don't remeber Desean returning punts until his sophomore year. Instead, he made his mark as a WR from his very first game as a true freshman.

He mentioned Iowa state, Pitt, Rutgers, and San Diego state. I believe Ragland will be attending Cal for sure even if the coaches did not want him back. But he's definitely going to need Blaquez, he looks about 270 at best.
Treggs is no mystery. He's a completely solid public commit. Don't let Scout's policy of calling guys that take other officials fool you. He's been very clear since summer exactly where he's going and he reps Cal every day.

As for Clay, we've been talking about on the insider board and in chat for a few weeks that he has every intention of making it back to Cal by summer and if he gets his academics together and works hard, he'll be back.

Siddoway has a better chance of being back than Ragland. I know Ragland would like to be back so I hope it somehow works out for him. Siddoway's got lots of options, with offers from Arkansas and other legit options but there's a pretty good chance of him being back at Cal.
One of many Cal tweets by Treggs (just posted tonight):

@BryceTreggs:

I'm not gonna want to leave Cal after my official. I wish I enrolled early like @zachklineqb

I have no problem seeing KA, Harris, Treggs, and Bouza as the top four WR's next year, with Hagan, Ladner, and Wark at TE. There is probably room for at least one more freshman to play at WR with these four as well...
Who were furds wrs this year? This is where coaches have to earn some pay. Plenty of teams arecreating match up problems by using TEs split out. Starting with KA isnt bad- most teams don't have one of him. Harris has potential, fr will have to step up, will have to use TEs. But unlike start to this year, we have experienced QB and should have strong run game. Its always something, but Clay hadn't done anything yet anyway to have counted on him.

That kind of matters.

A year later he's still at San Mateo. I hope Clay makes his way back too, but you never know.

Mostly LSJU was going with one-receiver sets, especially after losing Uwusu. For most of the season, Stanford's top three receivers were tight ends. That was the point, if we don't have WRs, play tight ends or RBs.

Of course, to do that, we have to have tight ends and we seem be even weaker there than at returning WR.

Fortunately we will have some great incoming freshman WRs to complement Allen. Hopefully we go to a more simplified passing system to allow those frehsman WRs (and maybe QB?) to make plays.
This is an uniformed thread I believe....

It is my understanding that Clay is at JC working to get himself eligible and back in school.

Also understand Clay to still be close with players and the team.
