Lafayette: No disrespect but

There is no way in heck that Starkey calls the play like that. More likely:

Starkey:
So here we go now and the Bears need a touchdown. The Bears line up and…. Wait a minute. What is he doing in there? Where is he going?

The Bears appear to be trying a bit of trickery…. Oh, that may backfire.

They snap the ball, he falls back. It appears to be a sack… No, he got it out.
The ball sails high and over the endzone. What, wait. He caught it? No. Yes, but it appears he was out of the endzone, so the Bears will have to try a field goal here on fourth down.

What? There’s a bit of milling around in the endzone. The officials are signaling touchdown. Yes! Touchdown bears. What a bonanza. It appeared for all the world that the ball had sailed over the endzone, but he simply reached out and grabbed it in a sea of defenders.

However, this will need to be reviewed as his foot was definitely out of bounds.

No, the officials are still signaling touchdown and no review as the stadium replay clearly shows his foot was a good foot or so inbounds. So the bears get a lucky break and score the touchdown.

Pawlawski: <Shaking his head> and says to self: WTF did he just say???

<Kickoff happens>

On third down of subsequent series (and radio audience still has no clue what happened nor what distance is now needed for first down), Starkey finally explains….

On the Bears’ last touchdown, so, it was Armstead huh? Great catch, good hands there. On third and goal from the seven he lined up as a tight end and ran a simple post and just reached out and pulled the ball in. Good awareness too, as he was a good 2 to three feet from the back of the endzone. Great, great play.

So, here we go now as the center snaps the ball and he throws it too high and over his head….. and the reception is made….

Radio audience: What happened? Who caught it? Where? Was it a first down? Aaaaggghhh!
