WOW, obviously a well thought out, pragmatic decision.<br /><br />Let's see, a program that has been in a total free fall with the past two HC's, no "on campus" stadium, a new HC with plenty of energy, but a less than stellar record, and more importantly, not even the first choice of the very weak AD to be the new HC, whiffing on several other, less than "high profile" candidates.<br /><br />Speaking of a "very weak AD", the "total package" at UCLA includes a basketball program in disarray, ....and on and on and on.<br /><br />Again, if Ellis was coming to CAL solely because of Tosh, then move on, you made "the right choice for the wrong reason", but now, you have chosen a program with an unproven HC, influenced by a "lead recruiter" who just left UW, so did you ever ask him why Tosh would consider UW?

Well, biggins is now saying McCarthy was gonna flip at the end of the week anyways, which matches a lot of rumors flying around. <br /><br />His commit just never sat quite right, esp. without having taken his OVs. I don't think we're getting this one back so lets hang on to the ones we have.

How well does he know Wilcox really other than he was around when Syd played? He certainly didn't consider Tenn when Wilcox was a DC there, and still didn't really seriously consider the puppies AFTER Wilcox was hired there...just like he didn't really consider USC even with his troll attempts at the Army AA week.<br /><br />I hope he was said those things yesterday while he was still in shock after hearing the Lupoi news and didn't really have the time to think things through with reporters just going crazy contacting him all day.<br /><br />It was great to see just about every commit re-affirm their commitments yesterday though....<br /><br />And yeah, can someone please give Avery Sabastian the correct tweeter address for Shaq Thompson? It's been said many times that now we'd know the recruits that chose Tosh versus the recruits who chose Cal. EM himself told everyone at the AAA game that he was coming here because of Tosh. This should be no surprise.<br /><br />As for Shaq, he seems perfectly happy to publicly take his recruitment down as many twists and turns as he wants. I fully understand he wants to think about things... but I wouldn't take his commitment seriously until LOI day, wherever he happens to verbal to in the meantime.
