pingpong2;681607 said:

The funny thing is that the state of Washington doesn't even have any state income tax. Just goes to show you the EPIC mismanagement of money by California and how Cal SUCKS DONKEY NUTS at grooming future donors. When I was at Cal the school did absolutely nothing to give me ANY reason whatsoever to even consider donating in the future; hell, it's almost like they went out of their way to make sure I wouldn't donate....

It's quite unfortunate that many of my fellow Cal alums are doing quite well but have been a bit jaded by their experiences too.

In California, unlike the states of Washington and Arizona, state money can't be spent on college athletics. If we could, with all of the U.C. and C.S.U. schools getting an equal share of the pie, it would be chaos. Poor Oregon, whose total population is 1/2 of the Bay Area had it's major football programs languished until Uncle Phil started to pony up for the Ducks, and the Reser family upgraded O.S.U.'s facilities. The mangy Mutts and the Coogs don't have to worry about that, neither do the Sun Devils or the Wildcats. Besides that fact, UW has fewer sports to support, so they have a lot more money to throw around. It won't matter in the long run anyway. Sark (who was schooled by Carroll at $C) and the out of control Tyee Club, will get the Fuskies on probation again post haste. When that happens and Sarkisian is fired due to their delusional fan base, Benedict Lupoi will have nowhere to go - over priced for his position, and not enough success or experience to be a Head Coach somewhere. Best of luck to him.
