I know I will be crushed by the board for the following statements, but I still feel I have to say this:

I am a CAL fan, I was raised that way, and I will always be a CAL fan. I want the football program to be successful. I am upset about recent events, HOWEVER, I feel that we need to be reminded of a few things to keep our perspective.

I am a CAL fan, but I am also a student in the California State Universtiy system, and I have seen my tuition and fees increase dramatically every year, every semester even, and I know that U.C. and CSU students are feeling the crunch everywhere. My scholarships don't cover my costs anymore, and there are few new scholarships available that can cover the costs. Students are taking out more loans, working more jobs, or putting their education on hold because they can't afford it anymore. I'm sorry (wait, I'm not), but that is a far WORSE situation than CAL losing some great recruiters/coaches. People are screaming about CAL not putting up the money to keep the coaches? How about we put some money into lowering tuition? The big donors that could supposedly have kept Tosh? How about creating some nice scholarships for the regular students. I understand that many of you are passionate about CAL football, and I know I must not seem like a very good fan, but I am disgusted by the way that some of you act like the world is ending because CAL won't pay a FOOTBALL COACH $800,000!!!

I know many of you on this board are perfectly reasonable, and are disappointed but understand there are more important things in life. This post is not for you. This is for the people who start name-calling and ranting about a GAME!! I don't want to insult people, I just think some posters on this board need to realize there are better and more important things in their life than CAL football.
