Maybe that helps with coaching rest of the D-line? And hopefully he doesn't bolt for money because he got more than what he needed at the NFL? (probably wasn't much, but still. And even still, I hope we get this funding for coaches figured out, too).

He loves Cal (good factor with all recruits).<br /><br />He loves God (good factor with certain recruits/parents).<br /><br />He loves big hits (good factor with defensive recruits).<br /><br />He loves Twitter (good factor with all recruits).<br /><br />Possibly in that order. I'd say give him a shot.

Some may argue even better than Lupoi (Zack did play in the NFL). <br /><br />I know he's a linebacker, but he did play the predator position better than anyone since. Maybe that helps with coaching rest of the D-line? And hopefully he doesn't bolt for money because he got more than what he needed at the NFL? (probably wasn't much, but still. And even still, I hope we get this funding for coaches figured out, too).<hr></blockquote><br /><br />I really like Zack. During his Sophmore (?) year following a win over stanfurd he came into the stands looking for some family/friends (obviously long after the Axe had been paraded around the field). He came running past me up the seats still yelling at the top of his lungs. I thought, "Wow!"

Once ran into Zack at the Andronicos at Telegraph & Derby. He was all smiles and happy to chat about Cal football -- to a perfect stranger. He's a good guy.

Regardless of position he is exactly the type of guy you want on your staff. I hope Tedford gives him an opportunity to prove himself like that other Graduate Assistant we once cherished!

If Cal starts losing more than a couple recruits, I'd suggest Tedford sit Follet down and educate him on the do's and don't of recruiting. After giving him the 101 crash course on recruiting, I"d let'm loose on the recruits we've lost, or are about to loose. The more restrictions and thinking you give this guy to do will work against him.
