I'm still long on Cal. We have core values that don't shift with the wind.

This includes having a varied athletic program, academic integrity, and making football very important.

The actions of the administration are consistent with this. Not every decision works of course, but every decision considers our core values first and not a race to be SC North or Texas West.

True, if we had a Phil Smith, T. Boone, John Arrillaga or other sugar-daddy we could pour even more money into the athletics program(s) that individual chooses to fund. We don't, at least not yet.

We will look back on this week and see that Cal's actions can be backed up by matching who we said we were, to recruits or anyone else, before this week. Can Tosh say that? Sark? This has high potential to blow up in Sark's face.

You can nit pick this to death, but I think you will see that the general arc of Cal athletics is where we want it.

Tedford's seat is still quite warm, not because of Tosh, because of coaching. If we lose/fire Tedford, Kiesau won't be a viable HC candidate because we will be in the discussion for a Chris Peterson level hire.

Where else would you want to be on a Saturday afternoon but cheering for the kids who want to come to Cal, be the center of the universe for 13 Saturdays/Thursdays/Fridays/?? a year, then share a campus with hundreds of other equally dedicated athletes and get a great degree?
